First of all, welcome to the forum. Anything you need to know you will find here. Try the search first for all questions that are not very specific (before a moderator tells you...
).Are you from the USA? There are several Salems around, but mentioning a 74 Kadett would make it a Kadett C, which was never sold here and counting my own, I know of 3 or 4 in the States. Unless the year of your future Kadett is a little off, the last year the Kadett was sold in the US was in 72. Do you have a pic to post? Let us know a little more, and you will get more useful help than "look for rust!!!". Good luck! Dieter

So I have moved this to the Introductions Forum, although it could be placed in General Discussions. The "Mechanical" Forum where you started this is seldom used. We like to put specific questions in the specific Technical Forum. A helpful site for newcomers is found at Hi newbie, you want to post on a forum? this is what you need to know!

It's not a Kadett you are going to look at...it's a '74 2 door 1900 Sedan, known elsewhere as an Ascona.
That's a pretty funky paintjob it's wearing!!

A "sticky" trans means one of the synchros might be on it's last legs. If the trans is a stock Opel 4-spd, no biggie, just about everyone of us has a spare 4-spd or two, they're cheap. If it's a getrag 5-spd....ooooo, different story....

Just for the record. The "ITB" on it stands for "Improved Touring Class B" which is an SCCA closed course paved road racing class and not in any way related to road rallying as is implied in the Craigslist Ad. The two forms of competition would require considerably different chassis setup and other mods.
