Looking to get an Opel Gt

I'd never really heard to much about the Opel Gt until recently but they look awesome!

Within the next month or two, I'm selling my 1987 Buick Regal T-Type which is
in incredible condition, runs, and looks great but anything I do to it will ruin the value of the car. I'd like to find a good Opel Gt frame and body to drop a Chevy V-8 in to make a real quick car that I don't have to worry about and can work on easily.

If anyones got an Opel Gt they'd like to sell with a pretty clean body/frame but is not necessarily in perfect running order, or complete I'd be very interested to hear about it. If by chance anyones interested in a clean fast t-type that is an extremely clean, and rare car I'd also be interested in hearing from you.

Just a quick note.
There have been (probably) a few hundred V8 swaps started over the years and only 10 or so that have been completed.
I don't think you would get many die hard opel GT fans recommending a GT to you if they know all you want to do is attempt a V8 swap.

Apologies if this sounds bad to you. It's just that most love the cars and hate to see a viable one end up half of a project.

James,

before you do anything else, forget about all of the V8 stuff for a minute, and read your way through the forum. You can build a better car, for less money, with less headache, and you will be on the road within a shorter time.

I would like to suggest that you skip the GT and go for a Opel Manta and install a Buick V6 or etc. as you would have more room to do the change over and you already
have Buick V6 experience. HTH

There is a V8 GT on ebay almost every week. Buy one rather than cutting another good GT up. I've seen just about every engine imaginable in a GT by now. Please check this out.

I've always liked John's idea. Would much rather have a Grand National V6T or Blazer 4.3 Vortec or Thunderbird 3.8SC in a Manta. So much more room. Check out Ron's 3.4 Swap or Charles' progress on his LK5.

Though I have been there and done that, I would not recommend a V-8 installation on a GT without an extensive plan and a big wallet.
