new to opels and the forum

howdy, my names mike and im in colorado. Ive always liked the styling of the opel gt and after selling a motorcycle i restored, i decided to take on another project. I went to school a few years ago to do automotive fab work so i think its time to test it out lol. Ive bought a 1973 GT and am not sure which direction its going to go yet. The original engine had a cracked block so it was no good. I pulled it and the trans out the weekend i got it. Not sure if im going to go opel drivetrain with it or experiment with it. Ive started on the body work getting the car stripped and ready for metal repair. Being a co car, its got some rust on it but not to bad, only where there was old collision repair done to it and the lower rear quarterpanels. Heres some pictures when i got it. Any advice that could help along the way would be great! I look forward to talking to you guys!

Keep the body as orig and straight as you can, put your money ant time in the motor and suspension and brakes, you won't be sorry!

I always pull the motor out the bottom. It seems like the best way to go, But you look as if there is no problem out the top

Yep if you have to remove the trans, you might as well take it out the bottom
