Well good luck with your kadett rallye car. You will have fun with it I am sure. How long before your 3 day run? You have a lot of work to do I suspect.

You've found a really cool Kadett! There are a lot of folks on this site that offer reliable Opel advice, and the forums offer an extensive source of wisdom. Enjoy prepping and running your Kadett in the Melee.

Thanks for the support. The Melee is a great time and one is rewarded for bringing un-restored cars. My Kadett is mechanically in pretty good shape so I am going to run it as is. Wish me luck on Sep. 8th! I'll send pix from the event so stay tuned on the blog.

Alex, thanks for sharing your pics and blog write-up. I've heard that Meleers were impressed with both the 1.1's performance and by your mad driving skill. What was the name of the award you received?

If you want a co-driver next year, let me know. Otherwise, I have a secret plan of my own for Team Opel.

I received the "Preservation" award for bringing a car destined to die back to life! I had a great time on the run and will try and make it next year for sure. I may not be in an Opel though. I need the storage space so I am puttin' the ol' Opel up for sale on ebay. Check it out. I hate to do it but...
