I think the "S" pistons & valves could be used. I'll be asking more questions & reading old posts as I build the engine. If I understand correctly the 1.0 is basicly the same as the 1.1 & later 1.2 engines.
Using the higher compression (8.8) "S" pistons should give you about 54 hp; the standard 7.8 engine was rated at 46 hp. The head, valves, cam, etc., should all be the same on the 1.0 and 1.0S.

The 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 all had the same stroke but (obviously) different bores. Larger valves were used on the 1.1 and even larger on the 1.2. Most say the camshaft was the same on all of these motors.

Totally cool wagon, Tom! The rear hatch emblem is pretty stylish, and the embossed Blitzes on the door panels are pretty sweet - kinda like the "Pony" interior the early Mustang folks like so much. I'm sure this one will look great once you've had the chance to go at it. Congrats on a rare bargain!

Tom,

I've been curious about this since I caught you and Ron on the road coming home with your new treasure. Wow, you never know where a car like this will turn up. That wagon makes you a family man now, so I guess you'd better settle down!

Congrats,

Jim
