Unanswered: Kadett B parts? Inner rockers?
So I finally cut up the 70 Rallye. Makes it smaller, for storage, you know? Kind of like a zip drive... Actually, most of what is left is going to the scrapper. Not much there really. The outer rockers and the inside panels were pretty much gone, but amazingly the inner rockers (the middle panel with the round holes and ribs) are completely intact, albeit with a bit of crustiness along the bottom. I intend on removing the other material around those panels so I can compare them to the GT's inner rocker. depending on how far Opel went in using Kadett parts in the GT, they may be suitable for replacing the GT's nearly gone inner rockers. I'm trying to figure out ways to salvage repair panels from rusted but not completely gone cars to use to patch bad areas in my other cars. I like the idea of maintaining the original type panels, even when you will never see them again (hopefully...). Anyway, since I see so many cars with panels that are only partially gone, I'm thinking we might be able to save even partial panels instead of waiting for the day when a a complete entire panel pops up. I know it would be patchwork, maybe a little like quilting, but if it works, hey, why not. If no one is making parts, then there are fewer parts everyday. So I have a few odd Kadett B parts to dispose of. If anyone has some interest, let me know. I don't have anyhting particularly valuable or needed, but I'll list it anyway. -automatic shifter (no bezel) -automatic brake pedal -70 automatic speedo cable -front rallye spring (different rate than standard Kadett) -parcel shelf (panel under window that everyone cuts up to install speakers) -headliner header bows -front suspension crossmember (with upper control arms, but I might remove them) -lower control arms (factory swaybar mounts, but no swaybar) -wiper arms/motor/linkage -hood -panel clips for mounting front fenders and grille -automatic driveshaft (u-joints feel good) -trunk light -and ? My net access is kind of messed up right now. Some problem that keeps kicking me off and makes it really hard to get a connection. And of course the computer checks out fine (so far). I'm in no great hurry to get rid of the parts, so they will be around for awhile. Tony P.

Well, a few parts have been spoken for.
-the transmission and lines, along with the engine, driveshaft, and stainless outside trim are being held for one person. -the front spring may be spoken for as well.

Hi Bill-
I think the spring is three leaf as the car is a 1.9. Dash is gone. I checked the front valance again, it was all bent up. I think the valance took a hit and then someone tried to pull the car around by it. Way too many kinks and creases and it was bent outwards in the middle almost 6". Even the radiator lower mount was almost broken off. Front bumper is bent a bit from whatever attacked the valance, bumper gaurads are good but they would need rechroming. It could be fixable, but it would probably be easier to find another. Gauges are gone as is the console, I think I sold them last year. The grille I still have. I will send pics of it, the spring and the bumper. I took the doors apart today. I have the window frames, window regulators, glass, lock mechanisms (but no exterior handles), and lots of the little plastic plugs that the door panel retaining clips pop into. No useable weatherstrip, but I have most of the little plastic retaining pins for them. things to add to the list: -dash ashtray -glovebox lock -little plastic plugs to fit the Kadett script to the body -floor drain plugs -some front seat upholstery with headrests (a couple of useable pieces, but they are a dirty white. If cleaned really well and dyed black I think they would come out pretty good or use to fix existing seats as the textured surfaces are intact.) -front sidemarkers -seat slider latch parts Like I said before, the stuff everyone wants is either gone or not worth using, but I have alot of those little things that get lost.

If the front sheet metal part (see attached picture) is still available and halfway useable, I want it. Please let me know by PM.
That is also for others here: If you have one of these for sale let me know. Needs to be for a 1.9 (with the hole for the radiator) or I'm not interested. Thanks, Dieter
