I don't know about the "sealed beams", but, here's pics of the bulbs I have which have the original Opel stock stickers on them. I ran the part numbers and the boxes both have "2098050" on them, but, the last "O" has been scratched out and a "2" hand written under it. In the parts reference book I have this is a vaild number for the sub group 12 18 "lamp, Rallye Distance", for the 68-70 Rallye. Description, "BULB, distance light" On the bottom of both the boxes is the Philips # 12227 (12V 35W Ba 20s) made in Holland

Yep!
That is them Gene - just 35 watts and single fillament.
Here's my light set up in place for the first time - think I will have to mount the light bar lower so the steady straps can go in under the hood.

Too cool! I love the look, even up high like they are. It takes away a bit of the sleeper/surprise factor, but other than that it looks great.
I also like the pile of suspension parts in the foreground! I think all Opelers are alike in that regard. We save all the parts we pull, good or bad.

That is definitely cool looking Jim! My braces slip right in between the hood and grille and attach to the radiator support. Simple and clean.

Speaking of Kadett's, one of the local yards has 2 (both 2 doors) that are soon to be in the crusher. Not sure of the year, motors and trans are gone, interiors very rough, glass and lots of trim. I have no space and cant save them, yard is in S. Oregon

But in Norway, and I suppose the rest of europe, only one model of the kadett b range came with that kind of front. It wasn't the Caravan/Wagon model. Not to my knowledge atleast... Last edited by Christian; 05-16-2006 at 12:58 PM. |

Hello Christian,
Welcome to the club! All US model Kadett B's came with this style front end. There were slight variations in grille style and turn signal placement during the model run. Only the Rallye model came equipped with the fog lamps. Duane

The US model Kadetts had more or less the front of what was sold as the Olympia A in Europe.

1.1 liter Kadett Wagon
Soon to be one less Kadett Wagon unless someone wants it! Free!!! Come and get it. Must be picked up. Lots of parts, rusty body. I will be parting it out in a couple of weeks unless it finds a new home. PM me if you would like to save it from my cutting torch.

Hmmm....doesn't seem to like me adding a picture using the edit function, apologies for the clumsy post....it's an A model, which, if I'm not mistaken, makes it pretty rare???

Super Rare!
Pitty it has been left outside the interior looks remarkably complete.
Finding parts would be LOTS of fun. Complete with a roof rack too!

I was about to add that ebay listing to the string. The sad thing is it looks really clean inside. You could near sleep in the back. No end caps for Duane's roof rack.
If you can handle non-stock or something other than Bosch and Cibie, there's a dealer in Fleetwood PA who has a big stock of Hella rallye lights, covers etc. Could probabley get you some stretchy covers too. His site is http://www.rallylights.com. He's also got a variety of cool accessories. His email and phone number are on the site. He's a nice guy, I bought a Hella hat from him. Jim
