hi i want to put a new gearbox in my kadett c 1978 just coz the engine is brilliant but when i go over 50 the engine is reving really high and i think and new gear box will do it good is this a good idea or not?? if so what box will bolt stright on to my 1.2 engine

The only one that will is a box from a 1.1 or 1.2, if you want an other box you'll have to change the engine as well as the rear axel [and maybe the front one too].
Maybe better to look for a car with a bigger engine to start with!!

The ratios difference is small for the 1.0-1.1-1.2 gearboxes
