Close enough year/model-wise, I would say. Car has some rust problems, but nothing that can't be repaired with home-made patch panels from the looks of it. Definitely keep us up-to-date on your progress!

. . . oh, and looking at your engine, I vote to keep it Opel . . . car is much more interesting with it than with some other engine in it!! . . . well, in my opinion anyway!

Engine is not gonna stay opel for a few reasons:

1. I want a really revvy engine.
2. If you want a revvy opel engine you need to pay it really much here
3. Opel parts are expensive here
4. My brother has 2.0 CIH that is really heavy weight.
5. I don't like their engines very much.

One of our members with a 1.1 engine (being converted to 1.2 as we speak) Kadett B has this suggestion for you . . .

. . . pretty revvy engine according to him too!

I like that Bob. I was told by a member in the know, that Willit?'s engine is good for that RPM, but at 10,001 it will explode, so I think I'll stay happy with my 6200 RPM rev limiter and stay stock. The way it is now, I have to down shift to get better than snail speed acceleration in 5th gear at freeway speeds, but, Oh Boy, does it move when I do that.
