Lightbulb Unanswered: DFO duals throttle linkage for Kadett

Completed entire throttle linkage for dual DFO intake in my Kadett. Designed and fabricated pieces so it's a "plug and play" installation . . . no modifications to stock Solex accellerator linkage other than exchanging Solex throttle link with shortened, fabricated DFO throttle link. Lots of cardboard templates used for correct linkage location, angles and lengths . . .

Thumbs up Second thoughts . . . outside the box this time

Went through a lot of trouble designing and fabricating the dual DFO throttle linkage for my Kadett in post #1. The primary goal always was to alter as little of the original, in-car accelerator linkage as possible.

In the meantime, the air filter housing needed to complete this project still hasn't been located . . . it's there in his warehouse in Malaysia somewhere, he just hasn't found it yet. Monsoon season is in full force there at the moment, so there's other things to worry about as well.

So, I decided to take another look at the linkage . . . idle hands, and all that! Upon closer scrutiny and even though everything would function fine as designed and fabricated, I realized that I had ignored one of my basic project guidelines . . . KISS.

Long story, short, here's my revised design . . . advantages - simplified (fewer moving pieces, less 'monkey motion') and infinitely adjustable linkage angles (threaded shaft with jam nut):

Otto,

That is a good looking NOS Kadett throttle bracket wherever would you find something like that? The redesign looks sooo simple. Why is it more difficult to make things simple than complicated?

Overall I'd give it a !
