Unanswered: Titled Manta shell worth?
When I say shell, I mean shell.. I haven't pulled all my parts off yet, but it may not even be on axles by the time I'm done with it. The floor and frame are shot, and I think even the A pillars are failing. It's never been wrecked and it is straight though.. I could say it has no rust because it's all fallen off. So, is it worth me getting the paperwork done to sell the shell, or do I make $30 selling the steel? I'd do it if it meant helping to get another Manta back on the road, but I would at least need to break even on my costs. Last edited by bullmoose; 08-17-2007 at 07:57 AM. One thing that might be worth saving off the shell, is the nose section, from 1/2 way through the front wheel wells forward. This way, someone can do a Manta Wagon, or attach it to an Ascona

Sorry. I just got rid of the fella. Considering the response was little, I kept the parts I needed, cut off the sheetmetal (including the nose based on response here), and a fellow Opeler down in Joplin came and picked up the skins. I hated making another Opel disappear, but I guess if you look at it from another angle, that Opel will help let a few others live and since there's one less, it should make the remaining ones worth more ;-) |

$100 or so
Take the fenders, (even if rusty they are straight.. easier to patch rust then unbend dents), cut the front nose off, cut the doors off and save the trunk lid and rear panel. Remember sheetmetal is valuable for a wrecked Manta.. rusty or not.. Not much unrusted straight metal left. Charles

Not too bad.. think of it.. the body panels are worth more cut off the car and removed than the car.
Also be sure to save ANY and ALL glass .. thats also getting harder to get now days. Charles
