Unanswered: Manta/Ascona passenger side RV mirror?...

I've searched and can only find references to the GT's RH mirrors.
Was a RH rear view mirror available for the Manta? Is a sutable mirror available?
Or is a generic replacement mirror my only option?
Thanks,
-Mark

Mark;
You have to go to the UK EBay or the German Ebay to find the squarish passenger side mirror.

Passenger side mirror

Not too long ago I bought a passenger side mirror for my Ascona. It matches my left side. (after all those are a standard item in Europe with so many right hand drive cars. I got mine from Opel GT Source.

Thanks guys.
I'm calling in an order to GT source next week anyway, so I'll inquire about the mirror.

Don't forget Manta didn't go the rectangular mirror until 1973-74. Older ones are round but I don't know if they're the same part as GT.

Good point. Thanks for the reminder. It's for a '75 Manta w/retanglular mirror.

Here's a heads up, there are at least 3 (slightly) different types of squared mirror.
The difference is in the height of the post.
I found this out the hard way when I was putting R/H mirrors onto a couple of my Manta's.
The easiest, but not necessarily the cheapest, is to fit a pair of Engelmann mirrors from Europe.
HTH,
Rob.

Wayyyy back in the day we used to use TEX mirrors originally designed for MG's.

If you buy a new matching LH and RH mirror, and they are nearly a match for the original Opel stuff ('74-'75).

Like this: eBay.ca: MG MGB MIDGET MINI Original TEX Mirror Right Side New (item 260150633130 end time 27-Aug-07 17:42:09 EDT)

any MGB parts house will have the same mirrors used on the 74-75 Opel. They have them in chrome and black. LMC in KC Kansas has them. Ron

Hey, thanks everybody! I'm sure now I can buy a closely matching mirror for the RH side. Going to go look at a friends MGB's mirrors.
