Mark;
It may not have to be the wheel itself, more length could be had from a wheel adaptor.
After searching with no results, does anyone know of an aftermarket steering wheel with a deeper dish to push the rim out closer to the driver?
I modded my drivers seat for more travel and leg room, but now the ergonomics of the wheel could use help when the seat is much more then an inch back from the stock max position.
Thanks.

Wondering if any other car make uses the same hub as the Manta.
Or am I going to have to look for an old momo or some other?

This adaptor is set up with two different bolt patterns for a variety of aftermarket steering wheels.

In fact, here's an Ebay auction for one of their Opel adaptors:
eBay Motors: Volanti Luisi Steering Wheel Hub Adapter for Opel (item 300224883478 end time Sep-11-08 10:02:04 PDT)
I have two of these adaptors on two on my cars, and they work great.

This adaptor is set up for MOMO, PERSONAL, Nardi, and RAID steering wheels. If you want a inexpensive, but, nice MOMO steering wheel, Ebay MOMO for their "marine" applications. This is basically the same as the auto wheels, but, they have better weather handling abilities than the auto ones, plus they're cheaper....![]()

You've been down this road before. Your anticipating my questions.
Grant sells a Grant wheel to Momo adapter. So it looks like I may be able to use the Luisi 5203 adapter and a 5 hole Grant wheel with Grants Momo/Grant adapter?
Unfortunatly I have Momo/Nardi tastes but a Grant budget.

Yes, I went through this for about a year or so, found a MOMO leather, and two PERSONAL/Nardi wood wheels, each less than $50. No, they weren't trashed, maybe a few scuff/scratch marks, but, still looking excellent. The key is to being patient and diligent.

Gene. Thanks for your advise. This will be an over the winter project so I can spend some time looking for a used wheel like you did. The wheel reach
with the modded seat travel isn't terrible, just that it could be better.
Btw. Here is the Momo to 5 hole grant adapter I referred to. Any comments?

Mark,
I installed a Momo adapter and Momo Corse steering wheel to my Manta after I installed seats from an Acura Legend. The adapter will bring the wheel out further, plus the smaller diameter steering wheel gives a much better feel as well. As Gene pointed out, keep a close eye on Ebay as used wheels from Momo, etc. go up for sale quite often. THE biggest issue to think about ahead of time is getting an appropriate puller to pull your stock wheel and hub from the column, especially if it's never been off before.

Just to add to what Todd said, with the adaptor, or rather both adaptors, you could probably get by with almost a flat steering wheel, but, most are dished, to some extent. The only thing I dislike about Grant wheels is the fact they have a TOTALLY different mount pattern than the rest. Grant uses 5 bolts where as most other wheel makers use 6 , they just vary the pattern slightly. Also, Grant, at least to me, doesn't offer as many styles/colors as the rest do, and they "look" cheaper, but, this is just my opinion![]()

I've been cruising ebay this morning and can see your point about going for a momo or other then grant. I do think the grant could be redrilled ,however, for the 6 bolt momo pattern. As far as the puller is concerned, I have one for three bolt holes and can fab up something as needed. I always try to
fab tools I need if possible, particularly the ones I'm only going to use once, or twice.
Todd. Glad to hear the smaller dia wheel works well. I have been looking for 15" and 14", but do you think 13" would be too small?
Thanks
