Since 1973 Opel produced the 1.2cc Manta!
The goal was to have a stylish car with a low price. I've seen some in French forums and I've only seen one in Portugal, it was originally bought in France.

1.2 liter, 60 HP, I had some Ascona A with this engine in Germany. Besides that and the 1.9, they both were available with a 1.6 liter, from 71-74 the 1600 had 68 HP, in 1975 60 HP, and then the 1600S from 71-74 with 80 HP, in 1975 75 HP (Ascona only, the Manta 1600S had still 80 HP).
