Acquired a Manta carpet kit

I am wondering if any of the Opel Manta owners would be interested in a
newly reproduced carpet kit?

I now have the templete to make them so if there is enough interest
I will reproduce this kit for the Opel Manta and 1900 owners.

Please email Opel Jim @ usaopel@usa.com

If enough people respond I will go into production

I would be interested in hearing more about it. Such as price, features such as foot pads, edge binding, color. Thanks.

Ditto! I know the more you make the cheaper they will be per unit, so a ballpark figure for the price would be good. Are these going to be as faithful to the original as possible or just good replacement carpets for our cars?

Thanks,
Harold

NOW you tell me. I just had my carpet custom made based on the original one. Haven't put it in yet so I don't know how well it will fit. I definetly think you should produce several carpet kits though, since there aren't really any around for the Manta.

Since the OE carpet was molded piece,...

I assume this carpet would be stitched together?
{like the ones from the 1980's}
or
Would it be made like an Opel GTs with the edges individually sown with an edge?

Does that mean you plant the threads and they grow together Dennis?

Or you get them from a sewing machine with the edges sewn together.

Sorry, just had to do that. I'm under a happy mood right now. Got the registration for Willit? and the monza today. Now they're legal for another year, and if I get my pic taken tomorrow, I can drive for another 4 years.

I ordered a complete set for my Manta of black loop pile carpet which came with the heel pad and pretty much just like the original. I would have to see where I had ordered it from (it's been over a year) but it wasn't cheap...about $350.

I would be interested in a molded carpet like the original. I spoke with a few carpet companies years ago who said they'd produce them for me, but I needed to supply them with a floorpan. They would then make a negative (fiberglass) mold for the top, and reinforce the floor pan, and use it to press a steamed carpet into shape. I just never got around to it (like a lot of things!).

This is great !!

I was just talking to the man here in Ca. that will do the kits for us
Including the padding a hand/machine sewn from the pattern with a
black nylon loop carpet $225.00 plus shipping to your home via UPS.

I do think we can get other colors too

They also can do a cut pile but I did not get the cost yet for this type of carpeting.
They are now compling a list of Opel models they have patterns for, so I may be able to do GT's and Kadetts too.

This is exciting as I know we all need carpeting (me too!)

Thanks for your quick responses and if anyone is ready willing and able to place an order please call me 760 497 5360

We gladly accept Discover American Express Visa Mastercard and Pay Pal

Sounds like a fair enough price. Are the carpets going to be molded though?

Thanks,
Harold

No these are hand and machine sewn reproductions.

The molded type would be much more money
IF anyone could make them in the USA ??
