Unanswered: Got my Manta back

I finally got my 74 Manta back from the kid I sold it to a few years ago. H e ran the thing into the ground in one month. I bought it back from him so now I can fix it up. It ran fine when I sold it to him. He ran it for awhile with no oil and wiped out the bearings.

I will be installing the 2.4L from my GT and putting the "Wasp" in the garage and restoring it as a family project.

I haven't decided if I want to put the Getrag in of just leave it auto.

Don't think I ever saw that Manta. "Drove it without oil?... let me guess...
"He blamed either 'you' or that lousy 'furin' car".

Always good to see an owner remarried to his car. Think about how many contemporary cars you'd sell and then want to buy back someday?

Ah, the lure of the Manta and Opels generally...

Post pics!

There are people in this world that can tear up a cast iron outhouse with a rubber hammer, and when it happens they want to blame someone else for the things they have done. I bet if your Manta could talk it would just say "thank you, thank you, thank you". That is the reason that in europe and other parts of the world owning an automobile is an investment and a privledge and gets the protection and care befitting it's status in the family instead of just getting driven into the ground and then complained about for being no good (piece of $hit)
