Unanswered: Manta Muffler

Just getting a 74 back on the road, as per normal the exhaust is basically shot. Will last for a while but need to replace. In the past Manta's years ago I used an Arbath exhaust and Ansa. Is there a "sports" muffler that will fit that is available today? Not much listed just generic mufflers, wondering what works.

Ron;
"Most" muffler shop have very good people working for them, but, check them out before hand. But, these shops won't have the correct muffler for a Manta. In my opinion, except for the headpipe, the rest of the system can and should be custom. Our performance Guru, RallyBob suggests 2" pipe from where the headpipe merges into one, then 2 1/2" over the axle, then 2" again straight out the back with your choice of tip. As for the one muffler, this isront of the axle, many on this site have their favorite choices, ranging from "Cherry Bombs", to Magnaflows, to MIDAS 'off-the-shelf', to FloMax. That's where YOUR choice comes in. Do you want sound or performance?

I went to Meineke Muffler and they found a complete Manta exhaust system in their Indy Warehouse which I bought as a reserve system. It includes the original fit muffler, pipe over the axle, and the rear resonator. If you want "stock", check with your local muffler shop and have them do a search.

Some of the Bosal OE parts are still available but will probably have to be ordered, plus they are expensive. I'll do what Gene suggests and go with a muffler shop custom setup like RB recommends.
Here's what Bosal shows as still available stateside if you look up Opel Manta.

Here are the part number, not all available:

It appears that everything but the california Cat. Converter is still orderable from
warehouses here of in Europe. Maybe not though.
