Keys locked in

My brother-in-law parked a Kaddett 'B' (I think, maybe a 'C') in my folks pasture some years ago and locked the keys in the ignition. Other than busting a window or bending a door frame, is there a way to get into it?

hangar or a 'slim jim'

usually you can force a piece of wire hangar with a loop in the end through the rubber at the back of the door to reach the door lock button and pull it up. It a bit of fiddling and bending but Ive found that its generally pretty successful on older cars. You may damage the rubber a bit.

The other way is to use a 'slim jim'. Its a long piece of flat flexible metal with a notch in it. It is slid into the window rubber at the bottom of the door window near the outside handle and then slid up and down until the notch 'catches'. then pull up. It like reaching into the inside of the door through the outside. Again, you may need to fiddle a bit.

Theres always AAA or a locksmithh (they'll bring a slim jim!)

Good Luck!

The door has been locked shut for a decade and a half, I'll bet the rubber isn't in the best shape to begin with. I doubt there is much reason to spare the integrity of the door or save the glass, but you never know, one of the kids might want it as a project in a few years.

Don't break the glass

Don't break the glass side windows and rear glass are not manufactured any more and can be hard to locate for some Models. But if you insist on breaking the glass give me a call and I will find it for you. Thanks for the business a head of time.
Work with the wire idea and be patient doing so, you can always tweak the door back but you can't fix the galss.

Steel Packing Strap

A piece of steel packing strap ["Strap-It" (tm)] is ideal but some 14 SWG 'electric fence' wire will do.

Parked up with my Best Lady, some time ago ... and in my haste managed to lock the keys in the car. Nonchalantly walked over to the nearest farmer's fence and broke off a spare 600mm of wire; bent the end with my LeatherMan (tm) and snagged the door lock open .... on the first try !!
Impressed my Lady to billy-ho - good to know ALL the skills of a mis-spent youth were still alive and well ......
