There were a few (3?) types of dealer installed rear spoilers. I am wondering if anyone has pix, specs, or knows where to get one? I have seen 2 of the original types in person: One was a wing with a pillar on either end connecting it to the body with a wedge shape taken out of the middle for refueling this was german in manufacture from what the owner said to me. The other was a Camaro/Corvette style that was a rectangular, flat mounted, body colored (or black), that also had a wedge in the trailing edge to facilitate refueling. I saw a picture of one other german spoiler that was raised on two pillars with a wedge for refueling but the whole spoiler was rubberized. I am actually interested in the Camaro/Corvette style spoiler for my application (lost my '67 RS/SS Camaro to a drunk driver, so I am partial to those lines). Please, if you have information on how to find any of these 'original style' spoilers please post links to websites or names of businesses with contact info. I am sure there are others out there who would be interested in a classic look spoiler like I am. Peace Felix

Felix,
I use '69 Mustang spoilers on my Manta's, you can get original's for a couple of hundred bucks, or good copies for about half that. They are adjustable on 2 legs. The thumbnail below shows "Green Eh" wearing one. Now I don't think it would take 2 much to do a number on one of these spoilers with the grinder and a bit of filler to accomodate the GT fuel cap, my only concern it it may be a little wide....just a thought... Rob. |

We use the rear spoiler from a Sunbird once in a while.
Make sure on the GT that you have clearance to put gas in.

Now that you mention it, that car DOES have a slight, subtle green tint doesn't it Rob?
I had a manta that color that we used to call the "Green Lizard". Very cool...

Yeah, But ...
Wonder if a 'wing' improves the aerodynamics of a GT?
Maybe Opel wasted all their time in the Stuttgart University wind tunnel when developing the "classic" GT Ducktail .......
