Hey everyone I appreciate all this kind help, I do have 2 sets for the 69 Vickie they came with the car, now I did get a phone call today there are three postmaster that are digging trough "boxes" of keys that have been at the post offices so maybe we will strike luck. Then I am going to have an extra set made or two.
One thing I remember that I found wierd though was that on my 70 The one key was the ignition and the other was the door and gas cap. now on the 69 one key work the ignition and gas cap and one works the door. I thought that was a lil wierd maybe I am wrong seeing as how I havnt seen the cars in almost a year. But If I gewt the cars back and I still dont have the keys for the 70 I will be surely getting tons of key blanks and making sets so thing like this do not happen again. Mike,

Gas Cap Locked by itself.
I have been using a lockable gas cap 'UnLocked' for over a year now. I fill up the tank Sunday and the gas cap locked itself.
I need some ideas on how to unlock it. Do I have to crawl into the spare tire compartment to UN Hose it or can I get to the hose thru the tail lights?

Lost Keys tip
Hi,
Just thought I'd add a tidbit - I didn't have any keys for my GT. Went to a locksmith (a real one, not a hardware store) and he cut me a new set, no problem. And then he mentions that if I'm a AAA member (CAA here in Canada) they cover part of the cost of replacing lost keys). As my wife is a member, I got over half my money back! HTH, jtb |

Aardvark! Can I get two more?
Note to self... Never take your precious Opel blanks to any place who cuts keys as a "service" next to the tires, oil, and chicken feed. ![]() Aardvark, I know I already got two, but if there aren't any takers, can I get a couple more? Thanks, Jason |

The keys have been lost to this car. I saw that you guys had a can o keys, wondering if it might come my way. Also, does anyone know of a way to disengage the stearing lock and put the car in neutral to load it without damaging anything when you don't have keys.

I don't know about the keys, but you can probably get a slim jim to 'break in' to the car so that you can put it in neutral. If not, you can undo the drive shaft from the diff and it'll be free to roll.
The steering lock is a bit trickier. I think that there isn't a way to disengage without the keys. You could undo the tie rod ends from the wheels effectively detaching the entire steering system from the wheels, but then turning the wheels in the right direction would be difficult. . . |

There are four bolts that hold the steering column in place, hope the "tear" bolts have already been replaced. Remove the bolts, unplug your steering column electrical connectors and turn the whole steering column to steer your vehicle onto the trailer. HTH, Harold |

85% chance that if you pull a door handle and get the code off of it, I can send you a set of keys and they will work the ignition as well. Its not rare that a door has been changed or an ignition, but if it looks unmolested, I would go that route. Or you could wait for the can of keys, and hope to get lucky. I charge 25.00 for a pair of keys cut to your code. The code is stamped on the stem that protrudes from the door handle inside BTW.
So you need to remove the handle Keith keithlundholm(at)yahoo.com
