the drivers side engine mount will have a flattened out spot in it for a wire clip to sit on. the top of the mounts kinda round out on both, but you'll see a flat spot in one of the rounds. the wire clip holds the battery cable, and i've heard rumor that the passenger side mount makes that side of the engine sit lower somehow in a attempt to provide more clearance between the hood and carb

Tilted
The GT motor is not on the level! It is tilted towards the carb side. Careful scrutiny of the engine brackets will show that they are not actually "square" and that the holes which the engine mount bolts fit up through are at different lengths in from the outer end of the mounts. The hole on the carb side is in closer to the block and visa versa for the Drivers side. I think!

GT Motor Mounts
The Motor mount bracket with the hole closest to the end of the of the bracket for which the stud of the motor mount goes through is located on the carb side. The other mount bracket which has the hole closest to the engine attachment side goes on the starter side of the engine. rk Last edited by Killer Texas GT; 04-15-2005 at 10:59 PM. |
