Summit Racing has some universal fan shrouds (deep) that might fit.
Thanks, Lindsay. The problem I have is it is a Scirocco-Style radiator (12" x21") and I do not have enough clearance for their fan/shroud setup (need 4 1/8" rad to block). I will check those out though.

I have a 12 inch Opel fan with a new clutch that will fit on the 24v and I'll try to modify an Opel shroud to fit or I may test my aluminum welding skills to make one up.

The 12 inch fan is not going to work. The 24v pulley has a much smaller diameter then the bearing on the 12 inch.

Plan B - A 12 inch electric fan would not fit as there is only 2 3/4" from the radiator to the pulley end so the plan is to mount 2, 8" Spal fans side by side. This puts the fan motors away from the pulley. It's a double pass radiator and I'm thinkiing of setting it so one fan comes on at temp and the other at a higher temp.

Brake pedal is now solid. It was tricky bleeding them with the proportioning valve.

Still need to get the clutch releasing a little higher.

Might make up some hood hinges this week.

Yeah, them dang things make what used to be a simple process a real PIA!

The Power Bleeder won't work, you have to have someone pump the pedal while you work the bleeders.

    Beast mode!

FEDEX tracking shows the fans in CT. Might get them tomorrow.

I was parked in a store lot when I had the wagon out the other day. A guy pulled up next to me and started talking about how he didn't know what kind of car is was until he looked at the emblems. He walked around the wagon saying that he hadn't seen one in years. He looked at the seats and roll bar and asked if it was stock. I smiled and opened the hood. All he kept saying was "Holy Sh!t".

Arrgh... Sent by FEDEX Smartpost. It arrived in MA last night and was transferred over to the USPS. Expected delivery is now Friday. 3 days to go 50 miles. Hopefully I'll see it tomorrow.

You have done the rubber band mod allready

Its a must by this engine in a Ascona Wagon

Very simple work and it help to soft acceleration!

Take a strong rubber band around your knee joint and and pull over the big uncle from
    the right feet

Well the package was delivered on Friday, but there was only one fan in the box. The saw the error and shipped the second one on Thursday. It was in CT yesterday with a scheduled delivery of THURSDAY! 6 days to go less than 100 miles. (FEDEX/Smartpost not DHL)

I installed the fan yesterday and will finish wiring it today. Then comes the test to see if it cools it enough for me to drive it.

The two fans are keeping it cool. Found a loose caliper The brakes are now working as they should. Glad that I only took small, slow trips to shake it down.

I took it for a little longer ride today and a guy in pickup was tailgating. I was in second gear and hit the gas. The left rear started squealing then the LSD kicked in and it just squatted down down and took off. That wasn't even full throttle.

A few more shakedown trips tomorrow and I'll find a place to open it up some more....

    Update:
After the exhaust bottoming out getting off the lift and at the end of my driveway, I decided that the 3" drop in the front was too much. So I ordered a pair of 375# Mustang II springs. I cut the flat end off and 1 1/4 coils off the top. It's still sitting about an inch higher in the front. That may settle out, but I may trim a little more off.

The piston in one of the front calipers was frozen. Rather than getting a pair from Europe, (they are from an '85 Senator) I am looking into adapting Wilwood Dynalite calipers to the spindles. Another project!

I had hoped to bring it but there will not be enough drive time before the meet. (also still need to align it) Plus the brake pads are not being shipped until tomorrow.

As of right now, it looks like I won't be able to go to Octopelfest this year Rainer. There is a meeting on the 1st that I need to attend. (but I'm trying to get out of it)

    Little Things

I trimmed a little more off the front springs and it now sits down 1 inch as opposed to 3 1/2 inches before putting the MII springs in. No problems getting on/off the lift and no longer bottoming out at the end of my driveway. While the initial 'rake' did look good, I was concerned about the oil pan which sits 1 1/2 inches below the crossmember. I did make a skid plate out of 1/8 plate to protect the pan, but feel much better with the front sitting higher.

Pressure bled the brakes and the pedal is firm and I'll do an adjustment to the pedal free play today. The Wilwoods make a huge difference.

I may even get to connect the radio today!

Sitting pretty! Handles great. No leaning in turns. Steers just like it has a 1.9 in it.
