Bob, I found an old issue of the Blitz from May 2002 in there it's states Don Cameron Fox II he died on April 13,2002 at age 45 Motorcycle Accident

Also found Issue November Blitz 2004 although I didn't know this Great Opeler others might

Ron Illsley passed away on October 8, 2004 from Cancer.

I also found a link Riley Taylor , West Chicago by opeljohn in 2005
    http://www.opelgt.com/forums/general...r-chicago.html

To answer your question, there once was an active Opel club in the Chicago area but it is no longer meeting. It was called the North American Opel G.T. Club and even had its own newsletter. Unfortunatly Riley Taylor who was the glue that bound the club together passed away some years ago and the club was folded into the Opel Motorsport Club ( OMC) out of Las Angeles CA.

Thanks for that info Mike, I've updated accordingly. I didn't realize Ron Illsley had passed. Gil and Roger Wilson always spoke highly of him.

I also found that reference to Riley, but no solid date. I'm sure it's in an old Blitz issue somewhere.

One lost from the UK was Tom May recently. A lovely old boy and worked in Opel all his life most noticeable Irmscher UK. Not sure if he was a member on here but definitely one of the long time GT fanatics. Think he died about 3-5 years ago.

Condolences to Juan's family and friends, especially his Georgia Opel friends. He will be dearly missed by all Opelers. What a terrific fighting spirit he had; an inspiration for anyone not feeling well to review his posts here.

I last talked to him the 16th and he wasn't feel so well.

I was in garage last night and wondering what Juan thought of the 2.4L distributors I sent him and how he was doing.

So I texted, and his daughter texted me back.

Wasn't EDC his company? What happens to the work he was so passionate about? I think that's my biggest fear, I'll start a company and no one will carry the torch.

i've only just come back to the forums and to find this out... i'm heartbroken. I only met him once or twice in person, but helped me out a lot through the forums.

Thank you for all your effort and contributions over the years and hope that you enjoy the fact that you will continue to help people long after.
