Getrag 265 Boxes
To fit a BMW 265 Getrag you will still need the Opel bell housing for a bolt up fit and the driveshaft too. Plus you will have to find all the pedal assembly and clutch linkage.
Best to just buy a manual Monza - the whole thing will be less expensive than the conversion. At one time Monzas were so 'cheap' here that Jaguar enthusisats and Stock car racers bought whole cars .... just to 'rat' the nice strong gearboxes! |

hey
thanks for you replys! um jim i already converted using the parts of my commodore and had it running!a lot more power noticible with it but it poped a bearing(which i failed to inspect b4 assembly)and it stripped 1st syncro of 4 teeth ! and yes any known getag 265 would be great thanks

Gaah!
The 4-speed Commodore box has a different bellhousing to the 265 Getrag.
With all the manual bits you have it may be easier to adapt a steel case Celica 5-speed gbox - lots of them about here. Blair's sell heaps. Then if (when!!) you break one spares will be available locally ........ |
