Could use a litle help in PA/ NJ/ NY area

So I made an e-bay purchase and could use a little sympathetic help in picking it up from a NYC area Opeler. The seller is willing to ship, and not for a bad price, but the item is a couple windshields for my Rekords, and the idea of shipping them by Universal Package Stompers just plain makes me sad.

Any chance a local Opeler who's planning on Charlotte or Carlisle could fetch them and hold them for me until the meet? Otherwise I'll just drive up and get them myself, in which case, does anyone want to get together somewhere one weekend this month in PA, NJ or NYC? The windshields are in Cedar Grove, NJ, which is basicly Paterson, which is basicly a western suburb of NYC. Thanks guys!

haven't been on here for a few days ...........

Hi Stephen:
Have you had any volunteers yet ? I'm in the Philadelphia 'burbs and can do it for you - just not this week. Is the guy in a rush to get the windshields moving, or can he hold them for a couple of weeks ?
Let me know if I can help.

rush job

This is kind of a priority thing, the guy's got a move in the works, or so he says, and would like them gone ASAP. I can't get off until the weekend of the 13th-14th, but if no one closer can get there this weekend or next I'll just swing up there then myself. It's not really a huge deal, just more a hopefull plea.

Stephen,
I just saw this post. If it's not too late, I only live about 10 minutes from Cedar Grove and have a big garage. I could get the items for you, but I've never gone to Carlisle before & as of now have no plans for 2007. But I can easily hold on to them for you & then we can figure out a game plan.

excellent

Marc, that would be great. I'll get ahold of the guy and see when works best for him for you to come get it and we'll get something set up. We'll get someone your way and get them down here somehow, that shouldn't be a big deal, and worst case I'll swing up later this spring and get them myself.

Now, as to you not going to Carlisle, we may need to do some brow-beating about that. You live so close, you really owe it to yourself to try and attend. Great atmosphere, great folks, great event all around. You don't need to bring an Opel, or even own one, just show up and meet the other folks on the forum in person. It's so nice to be able to put a face and handshake to a screen name.

Hi Guys:
I can help arrange getting the windshields from Marc to Carlisle if that will work, instead of Stephen making a special trip up here.

thanks guys

Just got a note back from the seller that his impending move has been indefinatly postponed, so less of a rush than anticipaed on getting them moved. I still haven't gotten the OK to share his contact information, and I like to have that OK before I just send someone ofer to yet another someone's house on my behalf. Probably means I'll just make the trip myself one of these next few weekends.

So, with that, anyone want to plan a get-together up there some weekend yet this month? Lots of Opelers, and it's been a while since everyone got together. Let me know when and I'll plan on being there.

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate the help.

safe trip

Just a quick note to those of you that offered to help to let you know it won't be necessary. After 1546 miles in 36 hours I now have 2 Rekord windshields, 6 new trailer rims, and a new tire mounting machine all safely at home. Thanks again for all the offers to help.
