New England events for 2004
The new forum format has encouraged me to search deeper in the site and I have rediscovered the New England section.
I am sure that everyone is still in "Carlisle Mode", but does anyone know about any NE events for 2004. Date for Opels on the Lawn? Another SCCA day at Ayer?
There are quite a few car shows on the Cape during the summer. As far as I know, they are no longer holding autocross events at Otis AFB. For any other event, I would be willing to host as many people can make it down here.
Every Tuesday during the summer, there is a "Cruise Night" at the Upper Cape Vocational School in Bourne.
The first Saturday of the each summer month there is a cruise and concert at the Falmouth Harbor field. My dad is a member of the hosting club, so there won't be any problems with spots.
There is also the Father's Day car show on Main Street Hyannis. This requires pre-registration as the field is limited to 600 cars. Last year more than 150 cars that showed up that were not pre-reg'd and got turned away (including the entire MA Corvette Club).
The end of August also has the Barnstable County classic car show in Falmouth. Big field with almost no cap, but there is a registration fee.
Either way, if people are interested, I can get exact dates and details for each of these events. After, we can head down to my dad's restaraunt for the best BBQ and Ribs in town (my dad was an Opel mechanic in the 70's, and if you stop by anytime, he offers a huge discount for anybody that donates a framed picture of your classic car).
