First time Opel owner in NH
I see there is another Unity resident with an Opel GT. We just picked up a 69 GT today. A friend had a 70's GT during high school, but this is our first Opel. I think it has the 1.1 litre engine according to the owners manual. We have some rust to attend to and I might try starting the engine tonight or tomorrow. It's been sitting for about 10 years, but looks pretty solid.

I've uploaded some pictures of our GT if you want to see the before version. I did change the oil and filter today and did a quick wet compression test. Good news is that the starter works... Results are:
100 65 100 85 Not the best set of numbers, but maybe the valves simply need to be adjusted. Dave |

looking for project GT
Hi I am from Meredith NH I owned a Kadett in the 60's My husband and I would like a project GT to restore. Would travel throughout NE but have not found any locally. All seem to be CA AZ etc. My son is an auto body tech so he can restore body. Please let me know if anyone knows of any that is reasonable in price Willing to put the elbow grease into fixing it up.

I called the man in Deerfield today 7/2 and he still has it and wants $3000 for it and he said he does know if it will run as he hasn't ran it for 3 years. Strange if he wants to sell it you would think he would supply more information. Did Mr Young have any luck and what did he think of it when he saw it?
