***Server move completed*** The server move was completed today. Details posted below.

We will be moving the site to a new, faster, larger capacity server. The move will take place over the next day. There may be a brief interruption while the site's DNS gets reset.

I am backing up the important files now. (Photo gallery is over a gig)

Oops. Looks like the photo backup overloaded the server and the site was down for about an hour last night. Only got 351 emails telling me this...........

OpelGT.com was moved to a newer, faster server today. We were down for a short period this morning when the files were moved and lost a few posts that were posted this morning before I shut the forums down around noon. It appears like the new DNS address is active and everything should be getting back to normal. If you are still having loading problems, try clearing your browser's "cache".

What does all this mean.... Well for starters, we were around one third capacity on the old server. (actually over capacity as the databases were not added to that figure) Now we are using one eighth of the space on the new server. This new capacity will ensure we have space to grow and the faster server should help everything run smoother. So this move will help us out now and for years to come and give us more space for our ***.opelgt.com sub-domains.

There are some great improvements coming to opelgt.com in the next few months. Stay tuned..

THIS SITE IS INVALUABLE TO ME
I cant even begin to estimate the $ amount this site has saved me in mechanics bills, much less the aggravition and frustration of trying to figure out how the germans of the 60s were thinking.
I also cannot imagine the time, dedication, frustration and $ it take to keep a site like this running and up to date. I know Its not Free to host a site like this, much less upgrades, larger servers etc.
Kudos and Thanks to Gary as site administrator, Thanks also to the site moderators and anyone else behind the scenes that I dont know about for keeping the best Opel site on the Web.

I for one would like to complain about this site. This site has cost me THOUSNADS of dollars. If it wasn't for this site I would have be rid of Opelitus years ago. But now it's contagious, and my youngest daughter has it. But this biggest problem I have is my wife seems to amune.

The " classicopels.com " is not pulling up as a valid site and I can only get to this site using "opelgt.com" is this a change ?

It just happened again. I was able to check the error logs and it does point to the translater program. That program will remain offline until a fix is published.

we have members loosing posts , random times when its super quick or geological when it comes to a post or log in , and all the other stuff of late , can we not have the old slow one back if it works for all instead of the hitty missy randomiser

Don't know what pap is, but I agree.

I have received over 150 emails in the past 2 days about the database error. I just sent in another support ticket to the host.

On a brighter note, the email notification part appears to be working Although my notices are in German...
