The new Classified Ad program is up and running. All new ads need to be uploaded there. the old Ad Board will remain visible for a couple of weeks.

Couldn't just link to URL of already existing picture for current "old" ad . . . errored out with script errors. Had to download same image from my desktop to post ad in new ad forum. When you delete old forum in a couple of months, will it get rid of duplicate image of "old" ad? Just trying to think ahead . . .

I tried to list an ad, but ended it due to some questions. I noticed there is now a commit to buy button. If I am selling something and put sale price of best offer, does that allow someone to end my ad by hitting the commit to buy button, or do I have to approve their price? What I mean is I listed some lights at "make offer" and it set the price at $0. If someone hits the commit to buy, does it work like the buy it now option and end my listing? I wasn't listing it in the auction part, just the parts for sale. I will put for sale in a post for time being

Keith, The "Commit to Buy" button is an offer to buy that item. Only the seller can end the ad.

Here is the way the developer described that feature;

The way this will work is the buyer will see a button that will allow them to make an offer to the seller. When they click the button, they will get a small form they can fill out with what ever they are offering to the seller. Once saved, the offer will go into a new table in the database and PMs will be sent to seller and buyer letting them know an offer was posted. Now, when the seller comes back to their ad they will see the offers that have been made. The OFFERS will include a link that will show the offer in a format like a new thread. At the end of the "thread" they will have an option to post a REPLY to that offer as well as a button to "Accept Offer". Clicking the accept offer will make the deal pending with message show and the listing will close. If the seller declines the offer, they can post a reply in the offer or ignore it (the rude way). When a buyer who made an offer returns to the ad, they will be able to see a link to THEIR OFFER. In the offer details thread they will be able to see the reply from the seller and post further replies as necessary.

The script is so new that they do not have a user manual or FAQ list set up for it yet.
