I am in the middle of setting the site up on a new server that will give us enough capacity for years to come. The problems we had a few weeks back showed how OpelGT.com has grown to the point where we were at the limits for the type of web hosting we used.

After spending a lot of time researching, I was able to find a host that offered us server space that is optimized for the type of programs this site runs on and has a flexible plan that allows for future expansion. A big Thank You to members who made donations and made this move financially feasible.

I hope to have the new site set up in a week or two as I will be working from a new installation to clean up files that are no longer used. I plan on doing a couple dry runs with moving the forums to make sure there is no data loss.

I'll update this thread as we progress.

Maybe raffle off some tickets, winner gets his/her car picture up in the corner for the next year? I'd buy a couple tickets to see a Kadett up there, could start a new end of the year annual fundraising tradition? Doesn't single anyone out, doesn't create a big burden for the site, potentially rewards big donors? Smells like Bob might have hit upon another good plan....
