New Feature - Best Answer for Thread

I am adding a new feature to the Tech forums. When a question is posted in a new thread, the author of that post and the Mods have the ability to choose "The most helpful answer" to his question. That answer post will be placed immediately below the first post. (You may need to click on the "un-collapse" button on the right). This will really make searching through lengthy threads much faster.

It is in a raw format now. I will be purchasing the full version and changing some things to our needs.

The premium version of this add-on will have a cut-off date so old posts will not be tagged and an icon verses the answered/unanswered text.

OK, this seems like a good idea. But how does a Moderator "tag" or otherwise make the winning post the winner? I don't seem to see it in the "Quick Moderation" drop down options, nor in any of the post buttons. Gary?

After searching and coming up with many replys sometimes over 10 pages long.
I believe its a no brainer..I'll trust the mods..if not I'll dig deeper into the thread and look for the info the hard way.

The current version only allows for Admins and the thread starter to pick the best reply. The author said Mod pick will be in the next release.

I think it will be a huge benefit to have the best answer just below the initial question.

Excellent idea, especially for new members! Reading through 10 pages of responses on someone else's thread to find the answer to the question you have can be quite exhausting.

A winner!!! But how much load does this put on the Mods. Everytime a new post on the subject is entered will they have to evaluate whether or not this is better than the "best"?

If the members who started the thread picks the best answer to the question, the Mods load would be minimal. The load would be if we go backwards and do the old threads. Right now, I set the cut off date for this add-on to September '08.
