Please read: PM Replies by Email
When you receive a notification email that you have a Private Message (PM), the content of the PM is included in that email along with a "Do not reply to this message" note in 2 places and a link to your on-site PM folder. Clicking on your email reply button does not send your message to the intended member. It ends up in the sites default mailbox. I end up getting at least one email "reply" each day in that mailbox from members who think their response is being delivered. I do not always have the time to respond quickly to that member to tell them their email did not go through so their reply can be delayed. |

Gary I admit to having been an offender here. It isnt that I cant learn, but I always open my email first before coming here. Then I see the notice that I have a PM and go ahead and read it. Then, since I have this one track mind I numbly hit reply and type one. After hitting send its too late to cancel. If you get them from me in the future you can just delete and not bother as I will have realized my mistake anyway. Sorry for the bother and I will try harder.

Hitting the reply button to an email is the natural thing to do. The number of PM reply emails seems to have increased lately and I am just trying to bring this up to see if they will decrease before I put some time in trying to set up an auto reply mailbox and message.
