This is a good idea . I am a member on a Buick site and it has the newsletter and I find it very helpful . Hope this will work out here . Thanks again for all your hard work on this Great site .

Interesting timing to say the least. We have been cussing and discussing this topic for a while now. How about a paid option to get it Via the internet instead of all snail mail? I have been rewriting the missing pages for the 2.0 build just for such a thing, How to keep a heating system with twins is another one. How much is to much in the horse power range would be nice too. Best to have it on line in my opinion.

Can someone go into their "UserCP" --> "Edit Options" and see if the default for the community Newsletter is checked off to receive?

i agree with tmk
i log in and read the site many times a day and think it would just add to garys work load to do an extra e-mail to every one (have changed my user cp to not get it as there will be nothing in it i have not read before ) i dont red news papers because of the same thing , if i want to know what happened yesterday i use my memory , if i could get a paper that tells me tomorrows race results and next saterdays lotto results ,that i would buy

Agree with Tomking, I'm on the forum twice a day
and use the search function if I'm looking for speciffics. What would be nice is to collect writeups such as the Weber tuning, Nobodys 2.0 thread etc into tech letters

Nice Idea but ....
I can see that it would be lots more work ... for someone!
Would it be possible to just send it to those who have not logged on for a couple of weeks or a month to keep them in contact and show them what they are missing? That may be able to be automated and there could be a link to unsubscribe. I tend to agree with Baz, in that "regulars" already see or have the information.

I agree with GtJim, Tomking, et all. It does add an extra workload for someone, whom I guess is Gary. Doesn't the subscribed threads cover the same thing? The ones I want to read and re-read again, I subscribe to. 97 in all.

That's why I voted no, Gary has enough to do, and those of us who are "into it" come here often enough to know what's up. It would be horribly tragic if he started feeling sick of it. I wasn't gonna say anything because it seemed most members like the idea, but as usual sooner or later I just can't hold it any longer...
I truly think the best new thing here would be what was suggested a long time ago, maybe it was baz who put it up, but it was something like "Required reading for newbies", a rather humorous but informative instruction manual for using forum style sites like this. Remember it? I thought it was great.

My reason for voting no was because I visit here several times a day and I really dont miss any posts! So if it reduces the work load of sending me an e-mail thats fine. Just trying to help keep it simple!!

What ever happened with this idea?
I like the idea if it could be automated.
The reason I went away for a few weeks was that work was getting busy, and I saw myself not getting work done because I was addicted to the website. I hated to miss ANYTHING, whether it had any benefit to me or not. With work slowing during the holidays, I am fully addicted again. I might have to go 'cold turkey' again at some point. Getting the reminders would be a good way to stay in touch without getting overboard!
