Yet another upgrade

Upgrades complete. Report any bugs to the bugs Forum.

1-14-06 I will be upgrading the forums shortly and will need to close them down. Hopefully it will go smoothly and take ~1/2 hour or less!

I know you been busy the last couple of days Gary, but here's the message I get when trying to get to the Hollander Parts Interchange page:

Warning: main(./includes/functions_bbcodeparse.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /articles.php on line 90

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './includes/functions_bbcodeparse.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/opel123/public_html/forums/articles.php on line 90

I think it was way too timely. I went to log in and got the update message. Bored I went to check Ebay. Found a FSM with 6 hours left and a bid of 99 cents. 74 that covers my wagon too. Including shipping it's 8.50, lowest price I've ever paid for one. Thanks for shutting it down for a bit.

Thanks Ron. That manual is loaded in a program that the author never updated to work with the latest forum version. It needs to be reloaded into a new program.

Hollanders publishes a parts interchange manual that junkyards, oops.. recyclers use to determine what parts from one model will fit another. We have a scanned version sitting on a program that is not compatible with the latest software we use.

Gary, what would it take to get that loaded on the site. If need be I can send the original to you.

I have the original, Ron. Hang tight. We had a few donations (Thank you all!) and I am very close to buying a program that will solve all of the article issues once and for all. The problem with some of the add-on programs is that the author develops them and then the base forum program gets updated and they no longer work. This has happened 2 or 3 times so far. I am not that happy with the latest article add-on we are using so it may be time to bite the bullet and go with a professional program.

I am also ripping the scanned FSM file into chapters for easier viewing in PDF format not the SWF Flash version that many had printing issues with.

Hi Gary,

I just made the realization that every time you post about an upgrade, there is a co$t involved.

You are doing a wonderful job that is appreciated by all. Is it time for another donation drive to keep things in the black?

That's great Gary, I wasn't sure if you had the Hollander, must have got it after I sent the scanned pics to you a couple of years ago (darn, has it been that long?). Glad the donations are still coming in, I noted you got my quarterly via PayPal earler this month. I'll echo what asdasc said, about maintaining the site and doing all the upgrades. Your efforts make this the best doggone site on the web. Thanx, many fold.

Well, just wait, if the ideas that are dancing in my head make it to the site. It will be at a whole new level!

Actually spending some time on my Wagons today. Got the '72 purring (w/solex). Now a front caliper is hanging up. Dug a spare front suspension out of the shed (It's almost 60F today) and started on rebuilding it for the '75 wagon.

Gary, since the upgrades I get kicked off regularly. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but it kicks me clear out of internet explorer. Any thoughts. Rick
