Unanswered: 1.9S engine upgrade

Hi @,

Till how much horse power can you upgrade without any problems the default 1.9S in the Opel GT ?

Someone told me recently 2.4. Is this true ?

I don't want to make too much expenses, just want to know till how far i can go.

Thanks a lot, Bye

Start reading the performance and upgrade section of this site and you will be busy for quite a while.

Well I believe your driving style will be the most important factor.
You should be able to crack the 100 + hp range with your 69 without major problems. Mild porting of the head, you should have flat top pistons already,
different carb, intake mods.
Now I don't have real hard number for you but a range.
Starting around the 115(true)hp and an aggressive driving style parts will start breaking. Just my opinion too many variables to take into account.
Happy reading.

In addition to that which is straight forward to get, read other post on that in performance also read the post on upgrade for brakes and suspension for your own good. Build a car not a coffin not only do you want your ride to be enlightening to your senses, you also want to be able to stop it and not lose control through handling.
