Unanswered: Torque figures

Hi all

Quick one for you guys. Having the 2.3 long stroke motor bits sorted as we speak and need to double check what the Haynes book of lies is telling me!!!!

Main bearing torques in my ascona, cavalier and manta manuals are showing as 72 ftlb but the carlton 2.2 book is giving the figure as 110 ftlb. To me this is a BIG increase so i'm fairly confident that the book is once again lying.

Can any of you racers out there tell me what your setting them at?

Thanks

Chris

Chris I torque my mains at 11mkg,
Up to 12mkg is OK with the std bolts,
I think they are 12.9 material.
HTH,
