Unanswered: Nitrous on a 73 street GT??
I am pondering nitrous - I put a roots supercharger (Eaton) on a Miata some years ago and it made it really nice.... I was thinking of a similar thing for the GT I picked up this past spring... just 20-40 or so more horses and torque to pep it up, nothing crazy or for racing.... Then I read a bit about nitrous, and it made me wonder if there exists a mild (and less tough on a 1.9L) Nitrous system anyone has successfully used on their GT? And what experiences... while keeping it simple... like a plate system, etc... ...and if not nitrous, any simple blowers (love the kits) out there? Not as much a fan of turbos, more the supers... I appreciate any thoughts! I understand the challenges and drawbacks - just wonder what's "out there".... Thanks! Paul Shankland Flagstaff AZ 73 Yellow GT

I've got a 1972 Buick GS and I've often noticed the "hidden" nitrous kits. They claim to offer around a 20-30 horsepower boost. Similar to what Harold said, they are typically an "Under the plate" design for carbs. You can find different kits for the boost you're looking for. Take a look: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...7000/70027.pdf

20hp shot ROUGH BEFORE TUNING!!!!
5 psi fuel pressure 950 psi bottle pressure .010 nitrous pill .010 fuel jet 60hp shot """"" """" """"""!!!!! 5 psi fuel pressure 950 psi bottle pressure .018 nitrous pill .017 fuel jet Both of the above is based on a 4 port fogger wet. The smallest pill that I can find is the .018. Another thing to consider is the fuel pressure is under actual running conditions. Thats why the fuel jets needs to be flowed.
