This is great Gary but how will that work? We should just drop off the parts but who will attend the place? Should the parts be labeled with the prices? How shall we keep the track whose parts were sold? Any suggestion?

Usually someone is there.. if you want to drop parts off and not watch them.

Usually whomever is watching the space will take the money and give it to you or if you want the buyer will be direct to you especially if the person wants to "haggle".

Long story short, tag and put price or have in a box with your name and phone number on it or both.

Its usually how its worked in years past and worked well.

I have installed the blue gear...which runs fast....thinkin maybe should of just left the yellow gear alone now what to do? Need a yellow 5 Speed gear. ....hope that solves the problem
I'm running the 1062 speedo and mine is dead on with using the Blue gear with the 5 speed I got from Gill. If yours is off, change out your speedometer. I doubt there is any other possible issue.

I really don't know what my Speedo number is 1062 ?? because I covered them in white faces
am pretty sure I put them back together properly.
Am going to leave it for now until after Carlisle...Then I'll take another working Speedo apart to white face takes some time

mum....What did you do with the yellow gear that you replaced with Gil's blue gear? Do you still have the yellow gear?

It appears you have a '69 model by the turn signal indicators on the dash. That uses the old style 4 spd trans which would tell you what "W" number is used for that car. Does anyone know what the "W" # is for the early transmissions? This way, you don't have to do another set of gauges.

I never had a yellow gear, the gear in my old 4 speed was blue as well.

W897 is the early speedo number.

It looks like you maintained the original look by putting the appropriate black lettering on the white face; what does the lettering say under MPH on your speedo? That's where the W number is located.

I have an W=897 speedo I will bring to Carlisle.

The previous owner had put the 897 speedo in the GT to replace a 1062 that didn't work, but the 897 didn't read correctly. Going 25mph it read 30, going 30 it read 35, going 50 it read 80, going 75 it read 90, etc. That isn't even close to the correct kph value either. I now have a W=660 in my GT that reads kph (not original even for Canadian cars prior to 1975 but now I don't have to do any conversions in my head).

    Leftover Manta parts

Happy to deliver to Carlisle. Have door panels, anty-sway bar, rear windshield--nice, door lock mechanisms, aluminum cover, door and window rubber gaskets, front seat mechanisms, trim ring--super nice, wheel covers. Check out photos. Make offer.

I do not know what I did wrong ...I compromised the yellow gear for the blue gear...
I know I installed the speedo needle on the white faced gauge correctly 99.1 %
here the link to the one I think will work Tachoritzel gelb / 19 Zähne mit Dichtungsset, Opel cih / OHC, Getrag Getriebe | eBay

What does this Mean: Das gelbe Ritzel ist jenes, welches „etwas langsamer“ ist! Das soll heißen, es zeigt die goldene Mitte der Geschwindigkeiten der drei wählbaren (rot / gelb / blau) Varianten an, es sind ca. 5% weniger als bei dem Roten. Ein weiteres Set mit dem roten Ritzel gibt es natürlich in einer weiteren Auktion im edelschmiede Shop!

    Thank You

I took two speedo's apart not knowing...spray paint white then apply the decal...no way of knowing the W numbers
    ....pretty stupid of me
Gauge runs Fast ? the Car is running Great!

    Rough translation:
The yellow pinion is the one "slightly slower"! That is to say, it is in the middle of the three selectable speeds (red / yellow / blue) variants and is about 5% slower than the red. Red gear is available through another auction from the Edelschmiede shop.

I'll be loading up a trailer of parts. 6 totes so far. '75 rims and tires, GT dashes and gauge panels, Kadett parts, DSD manifolds, etc. Many parts will make it to the "Dolla" tarp.

Anyone into rebuilding auto trans (or manuals)?

Anyone looking for a radio from a 73 GT? I took it out when I redid the car, and there's no way it's going back in!
