Was it settled ?

As far as I can tell, no one from the Texas group has stood up to do the 2009 show. Nor has anyone from the Washington group come out for their show either. Its getting about time to start preparations.

So it would seem that Snellville going to be the 2009 meet ?

The 2010 will be OMCs 30th annual anniversary meet in Los Angeles or maybe in northern CA..

2011 will be the 15th Anniversary of Opels at Carlilse and The National Meet

Those two meets are pretty much locked in at their respective 5 year increments..

2012 I am assuming is the Route 66 show again, if John wants to do it again.

2013 I would again assume is the Charlotte Show if Roy wants to do it again.

Leaving the 2014 open like 2009... I know it sounds far far away.. but believe it or not this year is the 3rd offical OpelGT.com national meet at Charlotte, and the 4th "National" meet since we started talking about it at the 25th anniversery of OMC in 2005.

For that matter.. I ran OANA for about 8 years, and closed the club up about 8 years ago.. so... time does apparently fly.

As far as the 2009 Meet, I don't mind it being here, just was waiting to see if anyone else spoke up.

I would think unless someone else speaks up soon, then Snellville it is..

I am pro-Snellville, and I'm willing to spend lots of time helping to organise it.

I know I would be willing to help out with the experiences I am having with organizing the Nationals this year. I think John wouldn't mind giving his knowledge of putting together the Nationals in Springfield last year.
I think Snellville, GA would be a great location if nobody else speaks up! Us "Southern" boys can throw a party!

Well, do we need to post a poll, or does it seem that most are in agreement for GA being the site of 2009 Meet?

Let me throw this out there.... Hemmings is holding their 4th annual Sports and Exotic show in Saratoga Springs New York this year (Moved from Lime Rock due to schedule conflicts) and they are featuring Triumphs. What if we piggybacked our 2009 National meet with Hemmings 2009 show?

It would be a good opportunity to get national exposure for the marque and maybe get Hemmings to have Opel's as their "feature". If it's held in Saratoga next year, it would be close to Canada so more of our Canadian member could attend. If it isn't it probably would be in the Northeast so that would keep in the spirit of hitting different sections of the country.

Thoughts?

I like the Hemmings idea.. I will call them and see if they planned that far ahead. They have been awesome for us in highlighting Rekords, Mantas, GTs, etc.. regularly.

Otherwise, I think Snelling it is..
