Been meaning to comment on West Coast GT's post. I hope he gets some more folks to join him along the way. I also thought it might be a good chance for those along the way to tell him about attractions he might want to take a picture of his GT in front of. Jeff Widder has some great photos of his trip down from the Chicago area. US 66 has a lot of history and offbeat places to stop.

You should just have to contact the hotel and tell them you are part of the Opel Group. They are reserved under The Opel Motorsport Club. If you have any problems let me know.

I have my room reservations for the 28th and 29th

The girl I talked to said the block of rooms saved for the opel club is only for the 29th? Now all i got to do is finish the GT.

Thanks for the post on the rooms. Looks like I need to call the Hotel. The guy who takes care of the event room reservations is Marc Evans. He told me that the rates would also be available for a couple of days before and after the event. I would think that the highest number of rooms needed would be for the 28th. The sooner we find out about these glitches the quicker they get solved.

Confirmed my brother (former Opel owner) is traveling the entire Route 66 with me.
Car's fresh from the paint shop.
Historic Mother Road mapped & downloaded to GPS.
Just need to rebuild my engine.
Master brake cylinder is still on backorder from OGTS.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I talked to the Hotel last week. The room rate of 72.00 + tax is good for the 27th thru 30th. If the person you talk to does not know this have them confirm it with Marc Evans.

I will do my best to attend. Last week I took a warm up trip to pick up some opel parts from Tony Ackerman. The crazy Opelman makes another appearance at midnight! The Iowa Kadett held up fine. I even had offers to sell it on the way. I will probably make my appearance in the wee hours of the Saturday morning as usual.

Been meaning to reply to some of the posters on this thread for awhile, but life sometimes gets in the way. Opelkurts question about an award for Asconas is something to think about. We've only had one the last few years but Petes did take best Opel one year. Some new categories for this year are a pretty good bet just not sure which ones yet. Also Lezliewk you need to remind them at the Hotel the rate should be 72.00 unless they are maybe including tax. After the Carlisle Show is over we'll get a little more into posting on this years National meet.

Just a teaser, early concept of this years shirt. A couple of things to change but all in all close. Big design on back, OMC on right front, GT and Manta on left front. Opel with Blitz and US 66 on long sleeve.

Guys I wish I could say I came up with the graphics, but they are the very good work of David here at Webster's Ts in Chatham IL. I told him basically what I wanted and gave him some photos and away he went. The guy is a car guy and does like our Opels. Once I get it firmed up I'll post the details on how much and what kind. I think we will do a Black shirt and a white shirt in both long and short sleeve and see how much interest there may be in a sweatshirt. Oh and to show how much David likes our Opels here is a little eye candy I'm not sure what to do with yet.
