Love the design

Of course that GreenOpelGT is enough for me - and OPEL down both long sleeves is awesome. I take size LARGE.

Thanks for the detail work.

If I can assist you in some segment of the event just PM me at your convenience.

John, as Tom said the design is awesome, and I'll take one in an Extra-large. Not that I'm that big, but shirts tend to shrink. Just Pm me with price, etc when needed. Thanks, Jarrell

40lbs gone and I can fit in a Large now...

To think a XL was getting to be a tight fit.. (May have been a reason I decided to lose the wieght

Anyway.. plans are on for me to be there now.. Just got paid for the Manta, and in two weeks the Kadett will go to the body shop.. GOing to be close.. but at least everything is trim and such.. mechanically shes ready for the drive.

I did mine through Internet Explorer. I have Firefox, too. Just tried it and it came up fine.
Try calling Lynne Durham at 217-422-3733 or her e-mail is: mailbox@pietalent.com. This information was on the sheet I printed out after I registered.
Hope this helps...

Do we need to individually pre-register our car with the show in order to get assigned slots as a group?

Or do we register anytime and we'll still be all parked together?

A little late getting back to you guys, thanks Roy for helping Sawdust on this one. In answer to West Coast, no pre-registering is not needed to get a spot with us but it is cheaper and keeps you from having to split away from the group on entry to register. We try to caravan downtown Saturday morning as a group both for effect and to park as a group. It's not as important now due to the event people being more aware of us and them being able to send stragglers our way. I think everyone who has been there agrees being in that long line of Opels Saturday morning is a rush.

We are registered

I just got off the phone and have our hotel reservations for Friday and Saturday nights. We are taking only one car this year and it is now registered.

John, we will be wanting t-shirts as well. When you get to taking orders with colors and sizes, let me know and I'll send you a check.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Had a little time off today so trying to run down some loose ends on this thing. First off still no price yet on shirts but getting closer, shop owner was on vacation. Next up is awards, I.E. how many and what kind. Part of the reason for posting the poll is to get an idea of how many Opels to expect but it does not really tell me what kinds. So far I am thinking of having both Stock and Modified Awards for GT, Manta/Ascona, and Kadett, with overall Best Opel in both Stock and Modified. Total 8 awards. The events folks have said they would spring for those. Do we want or need 2nd place awards in those categories. If we skip say a Modified Kadett Class we could use that for longest drive in Opel. On this subject are there folks who would be willing to do formal judging. Most years we do participant judging but with this being a National Meet perhaps it needs some knowledgeable judges. The poll shows so far 25 Opels will be here but only 6 rooms reserved. If you think you need a room do put a hold on it, I talked with the Hotel events manager awhile back about some other things and was told the the Hotel was pretty much sold out for those dates and they will release our hold on the 30 we have about a month away from the event. What started that conversation was my asking about a bigger hospitality room for our group and someone else had all the banquet rooms reserved. We still need need someone to reserve the room that is attached to the Hospitality Room we had last year. It is a Bigger room and will cost more than the regular room rate of 72+tax. Now the last thing I am really wrestling with, the Sat. night dinner. Those of you who have been to Carlisle know how hard it is to get a place that can handle a group like ours. Kinda going by poll numbers I think we could be looking at 40-50 people by that time, most on separate checks. I think there is a desire by some for the place to sell booze. One of the possibilitys is the Hotel itself. I asked about it from the manager and he said with advanced warning he could have the needed help onhand. Of course Darcy's Pint is an Option but we could be waiting for awhile to get seated close to each other. I checked another place up Stevenson Dr. going toward the Steak House we use on Friday night. It's called Top Cats Chill & Grill and I eat lunch there every now and then. Not quite as good as Darcy's, but good and reasonable with a full bar. Down side is the need for a deposit to hold a section of the place on a Saturday Night. I know I will have to make the call on this since I am the local guy, but always ready for other input. It's under a 100 days away now and will be on us before we know it.

Room Reserved

John,
I just made my room reservation for Saturday nite.
We both get off work at 10pm on Friday, so will drive down Saturday morning.

Top Cats is fine w/ me as long as they have enough room and the food is good.

Dropped my 1.1l head at the shop to get bigger valves installed, and hope to drop off the block to be bored out to 1.2l on Friday.

IMHO we don't need 2nd place awards.

Looking forward to the show.

Thumbs up I'm in...

Hi John,
I just booked my room for Sat. The person who took my rez quoted me $66 + tax, which I thought was fitting (but probably inaccurate) I will be joining the group for dinner Sat night. Top Cats Chill & Grill sounds good, unless they are actually grilling real cats. (Just kidding Connie )
Hoping for a good Hoosier contingent...

I agree with Kevin that we dont need second place awards.
John what is the price of the room that comes with large meeting room? If not too much I will spring for that.
Have we decided to do something for sure on Thursday evening and Friday day? I.e. 3 day get together?
As for shirts I will get two and probably in XL to allow shrinkage. Charles I am proud of you on the lost 40#.

Thumbs up Reservations are in

I just registered the GT & also got my room for Fri & Sat night at the Rt 66 Hotel. John, I'll buy at least 1 large T-shirt.

Like Kevin said, I don't think 2nd place awards are needed & Top Cats for dinner sounds good. You've picked some good places to eat over the years, so I'm sure this would be just as good.

To answer a couple of the other posts , Tom the room we need to get is #147 and it is 130.00 + tax per night. If you or someone else gets it what I think would be nice is to do what they did out at Carlisle this year. They took up a collection to cover the cost of the hospitality room and what was left over was donated to Gary for this site. The money could be used to offset the cost of the room for whoever rents it and any extra to go to this site. As to West Coasts question , we will have an award for the longest drive even if the event does not supply it. I would think you would be hard to beat on that one. I do remember some guys who drove a GT from the East Coast to the 20th OMC picnic that would beat your overall total. And of course Kevin Fier and Bill Hoffmann drove from the midwest out to the 25th OMC picnic. As far as Thursday night and Friday day I plan on being off and would play guide for say a cruise out to New Salem State Park where Abe Lincoln spent his early years. Also those times might be good to do our own swap meet or restoration clinics. Last year Tom Adkins just checked out the Lincoln sites on his own. Oh and Ron that was last years price on the room but if they give it to you thats their problem.
