2007 Tacoma - Gathering of the Opels

The Tacoma, Washington 17th Annual Opel Gathering is scheluded for July 21st 2007.

The location will be "Kelley's Kafe" 16302 Pacific Ave. Spanaway, Wa. The hours are from 11:00 A.M. til 4:00 P.M. We are moving again this year to a new location further south on Pacific Ave. due to the fact of the sale of both "Happy Day's" and the "A & W". But we think you will like this new Drive-in because of it's car theme decor. It also has a larger and more varied food selection. Once again, bring anything and everything Opel related to sell, buy, trade or give away. Please bring a donation for the door prizes. This event will be held Rain or Shine.

Come and talk to "Gil of Opel G.T. Source" about the New Opel G.T. See the pictures. There will be other guests that we are sure you will enjoy meeting also. Call John at 253-581-5372 for further info. The Flyer's are ready to be mailed, do we have your address? Hope to see you all with or without your Opel's this year.

My granddaughter and I are looking forward to this one. I'll be riding my Goldwing up from AZ and picking her up in Yakima. We are hoping the pink GT with the eyelashes is there, but won't be disappointed with any that we get to see.

Hi . I'm in the market for an opel gt in very good condition.I live on Vancouver Is & the picking are few & far between around here . Wanting to know there will be many gt's for sale & the best hotel to stay at if I go down. Any advise on bringing it accross the border? Thanks eh. I have up for sale 3 Opel GT's. They are all 4 spd models with the 1.9L engine. The gray car is the one in my opinion is worth fixing. The body is in OK shape, alot better then the others. It has nice 5 star wheels, weber carb, and dual exsaust. The other two are mostly complete, the shinier orange one was a daily driver untell it got the front end damage. I have titles for two of the cars. I would like sell them fast since they are in my way, so I will take any cash offer over $700 at the moment. Myrna and I went three years ago. We drove in from Calgary and stayed at the Best Western Lakewood Motor Inn. 6125 Motor Ave. S.W. Lakewood, Wa. 98499 (253) 584-2212
It was a decent place and reasonably priced, and was recommended by "MawOpel" (aka Mary Lawson, since retired from Opel ownership). I think that was the last year the meeting was at the Happy Days Diner, which is now closed, and I don't know Tacoma/Lakewood/Spanaway well enough to know if the Lakewood Motor Inn is reasonably close to Kelley's Kafe (Spanaway is south-east of Lakewood).

Seven miles, 14 minutes. There might be something closer, or somewhere that others are staying. Call OpelJohn (John Boespflug) at the number in the first post to see if he can help you. We can't make it this year, but say hello to the folks there for us.

Hello Fellow Opel friends,

Well I have committed to making the journey to the Gathering of Opels this year
I hope my GT will make the trip without a breakdown along the way

I will be heading up to Redding California thursday morning the 19th.
Hope to be there by 11 AM to 12 noon

If anyone would like me stop and say hello I would be happy to do so.

I do intend to reach Portland friday night the 20th staying there with friends overnight, then off to Kellys Kafe in Spanaway

I will bring a few small parts like Blitz emblems, inside dome covers, valve cover oil caps, and even Torque tube donuts too IF you need parts let me know in advance I will bring what I can up the coast and meet people along the 5 freeway as i go.

Looking forward to meeting all the best Opelers along the way and in Washington too Maybe some Canadians too eh?

It's going to be touch & go getting there . My 71 broke down in kamloops. I live near victoria. The parts were ordered fri priority post from opelgt sourse.if they get them soon I'll fly down to get it & drive it home.Lets hope for promt postal service & customs..As well as hopeing they got the problem. Really want to get there. Take care eh!!
