It's that time of year again, Carlisle is past, and Summer is upon us (almost).
The Southern Ontario Summer BBQ will be on Sunday, June 24th of this year. Everyone is welcome, with or without their Opels...all I ask is an RSVP if you are coming by 17th of June so I have an idea of numbers. Several people talked about coming up from the 'States this year, perhaps use this thread to plan any caravanning etc. Nearer the time I will be sending out maps, directions etc. I will also have local hotel info, I would suggest making a weekend out of it if you are traveling a distance...Toronto is a great city to visit, and the heart of the city is 16 minutes from my place by GO train. Looking forward to seeing old and new friends, Rob. Last edited by tekenaar; 05-27-2007 at 02:47 PM.. Reason: more terrible speeling |

Rob,
I will be there again this year. I had a great time at the last one. Anyone else crossing the border at the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area, we could meet & caravan from there. I'll be driving I-79 north to Erie,PA & I-90 east to Buffalo. I checked the US.gov website, passports ARE NOT needed to drive across the US/Canada border until 2008. ~Tom Last edited by tekenaar; 05-27-2007 at 02:39 PM.. |

We are tentatively planning to come up, too. We will be driving up I-90. Tom, we could meet you in Erie and caravan up from there. We are 2 hours from Erie... maybe 3 more to your place Rob ? So we will probably need some hotel information. I'm thinking we will not be wanting to drive 5 hours home that night after a party at your house

My wife and I are looking to attend as well - my son will be in NC. Any chance Derek and his SO will be there? We'd have England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales all represented...

If only I still lived in Michigan . . . I'd be there in a New York, uh, Toronto, minute!
Sure would like to see all your toys, Rob!

Anyone?
Greetings all, of course I'll be there, I live around the corner (almost)
Here's a question though, I'm thinking of getting the front spring that was @ Carlisle and being it's in Salunga PA, I was hoping I might impose on on of the fellow afflicted (opelitis, the only disease with a support system for the addiction and not the cure!)) to pick it up on the way past. Is anyone going to be going past Salunga? It's just ouside Lancaster Map of Salunga, PA by MapQuest Let me know and I can make the arrangements, Best, Mike |

Bump...
A gentle nudge to put this back on the home page for the weekend readers.
I'm noting the almost deafening silence from the local guys....(apart from Mike and Senen)...I guess none of them are frequenting the site

Rob:
I am working on our plans to attend your BBQ next weekend. What time do you kick off all the festivities? Tomorrow, I plan to make hotel reservations for Sunday night. We are meeting Tom Cavataio in Erie on Sunday morning and driving up with him. What would you like us to bring? Thanks, Vickie P.S. We will need some directions to your house before then. |

Hey Vickie,
Great that you guys are coming up! We will probably kick off around noon, but it's super casual, so when ever you can make it is good, we will keep going until we run out of beer, or the cops shut us down.... ![]() All you need to bring is a good appetite!! I'll send out directions soon... Rob. |

Looks like my wife and I will be unable to attend. Just too much time spent away from the farm lately and I need to catch up - I've hardly looked at the car since Carlisle. Its' a real bummer since we were looking forward to it, but perhaps next year.
You guys be sure to take lots of pics! Todd K. |
