Question

Mike,

More info please - I have a lot of frequent flyer miles saved up! Do you have a preliminary agenda of events for all four days? How about entry fees (to attend the show not to show a car)? What is the typical nightly rate on local hotels in Euros?

Thanks!

Matt

Oh, that would be great..

I'd serve as your special host.

The location is actually perfect in terms of flying in: It is 2 miles from the airport Stuttgart!

You could finance your stay easily by selling certain parts which are much easier to get in the US than over here. Dealers will be present too, so I doubt you'd take anything back... So bring along some good seats, hoods, doors... Just kidding. If there's some serious interest from your side, I'll check the market for smaller 'most wanted' parts.

I don't have the confirmed terms but for you guys there will be special treatment, no question about it (up to approx. 6-10 people I'd say...)
Vacancy: we'd supply a cheap solution (rooms for 4-6), about $40,00/day,
but there are also some small motels/hotels nearby, don't know yet how much they charge (maybe 60-80,00.-). Breakfast is included.
Entry fee: regular guests who stay over the course of the main days (saturday/sunday - incl. gifts/diner..) will pay about $55,00, for you it's half price.

I'll translate the whole program as soon as it is confirmed. Of course we have live music, barbecues, games, contests, screenings (rare & new GT-footage & films, my job..). We will visit the Solitude Race Track (Forumula 1 in the early sixties!) etc. etc..

Yes, Dominic is the the guy with the blue shirt (he picks up a trophy) and the black dog. He brought along his second GT (the blue GT/J's gear box needs repair), it is the awesome restored silver one with the red interior..

Good to see he's still around and still into Opels. He has a good eye for the "proper" body repair. When he spent a year or so, here in Atlanta, I suggested he open a body shop, he could have done well. The first time we met, I drove up to his place in my 74 blue Sportwagon. He oooo'ed and aaahhh'ed over it saying he had never seen one?? What's up with that? Anyway, still wish he was here. Say hello for me, next time you see him.

Mike;
You would know it as a Ascona A Voyage/Kombi/Caravan. It looks like this:

Who all is going?

Connie and I are pretty sure we are going to make this one. I was wondering if anyone has made travel and or hotel arrangements yet. Since this would be our first trip across the pond it would be nice to know some others on the way. I think Gil Wesson plans to go and I will be calling him for advice. Anybody else up for it?

I was just in Stuttgart last month at the beginning and end of a driving tour and stayed in two different hotels there. I would advise anyone going there to avoid the Mercure Hotel-Airport. It doesn't show up in the pictures, but it is in an office/industrial area with construction nearby and there is very limited parking. The indifferent hotel staff and pricy rooms didn't help either.

The LeMeridian Hotel downtown, however, is excellent.

OK guys/gals. I'm about 2 hours away from the event and I plan on going down if someone needs a ride from Frankfurt IAP and back I have room for a few in my van. And (most importantly) I got a kitchen pass

Am hoping to make the trip too, but with Humbug (her name) being so noisy I may have to find a standard GT for the trip.......best speak nicely to the old man and we could take his. I'm also trying to get a group of Brits to go, but it may be easier for us all to fly.......and rent a GT from Hertz
