I am sorry but it seems Connie and I will not be able to make it this year. I just got our invitation to the Graduation of my Niece and of course it is June the 7th. I tried to convince myself and my wife she would not miss us but was told that my thought process was faulty. Having been to the graduation of both her siblings missing this would not be right. As usual the wife is quite correct. On the bright side I do not think I will have this problem next year.

I made the comment that I was about done with it and ready to Colfax. That was my first mistake. My wipers came on in the up position and stuck. Today I was working on the headlight wiring gremlin that arose when I changed a switch. The motor for the wipers started smoking. I hooked up a wire and the fuse panel started smolering...needless to say I am not a happy camper. If we can't get it fixed, we probably won't come. I was so looking forward to meeting people who share the obsession.

Sorry to hear about your bad luckeven if you don't have it fixed you can still come over without it. we have had quite a few people over without there car. Any way just a thought. Hope you get it fixed up

I think I have the lights down to the switchand the healight wires. When I hook up the switch and flip it I pop two or three of the headlight relay fuses. I hope it's not the relays. I haven't even looked at the wiper wires or the source of the smoke. Not a wiring expert by any means.

If we can work them out, we'll bring the car. I have been setting this as a finishing goal since I first heard about it, so it's a little disappointing to get this far and fall short.

Hey Kevin,
As Hans says, Colfax is pretty rural. Paul would know better, but a hotel would seem unlikely. However, Lafayette (home of Purdue U.) is only about 20 minutes? away, and the hotel choices there are abundant. There may even be some closer places, but I don't know the area well enough to suggest an alternative.

Since he lives on my block, I gave Polker the wiper motor from my GT last weekend and can help with a bypass of the light relays if needed. Had mine blow the relay while in L.A. visiting Todd. If I am able to help him get his car there I will.....after all he's the one who mentioned the event to me. My GT is down with engine problems.....burnt or bent valve is likely, so I'll have to bring pics so it can be there in spirit. It's nice to see a local event so close to home......nearly in my back yard. It will be awesome to meet up with the local Opel-holics and fellow addicts.....thanks for inviting everyone.
