Look what I found on the Saab Central Carlisle thread.

Notice any familiar cars in the background?

Any "new" or "good condition, used" door sheet metal for a GT available somewhere?

Well right now I know 'KAYS GT' is on the key and good to go but the black rag top is still without clutch, not for any reason other than it's constantly minus 12-14 degrees in the garage and the walk-in wardrobe and en-suite are still not finished....remember "Happy Wife! Happy Life"

Could all change when the weather breaks 'cause I really want to know what a Quad 4 donk can do in a GT.

Counting the days....

Yep...Registration card even made it to snowy Canada ,so we will be dusting off the coolers and bringing plenty of Canadian refreshment, just to be sociable you understand. .............

On another note I have a 38DGAS available if anyone is in the market as I have another to pick up in the UK in September. I will bring it to Carlisle.

Derek,

I might well be interested in that 38DGAS in case you want to talk about it ahead of time in a PM.

Carlisle will be fun, judging by the increasing dipsomania on the site... I've always been afflicted myself. Bravo to Toronto!

Bob,

I know the Yuengling brands by heart and also Shiner Bock, which I was introduced to by a friend from Texas, which I believe is where it comes from. Didn't know you could buy it in PA, so you'll have to let me in on your source.

Unhappy

It kinda looks like I might skip Carlisle this year. Not that I didn't want to go, but there are different things to consider right now. I wanted to go up at least to the Charlotte spring show, but I have other travel plans for that weekend too.
Edwin, if you have a different possibility to go up to Carlisle, then take it. Don't wait for me!

I just made my reservations at the hotel for Carlisle. The girl said there were still 27 rooms left out of the 35 set aside for the "Opel Group".

Carlisle or Bust!

Booked my flight, reserved my room, rented my car.

Since I have to fly 2100 miles to get there, I'm bringing my wife and son and staying a week!

I'd really appreciate any local input on stuff to do/see/visit while we're in the area.

Corey

Hershey Park and chocolate factory is nearby. It's about a 40 minute drive East on Route 81. Also of interest is the Gettysburg battle field in Gettysburg and the Harley Davidson factory in York. The HD factory gives tours.

Thumbs up Carlisle Week And Beyond

Hey Corey,
After you finish with your sweet tooth and Hershey Park, take a drive a couple of hours down the road to Washington, DC. All kind of National Museums and other attractions for you and your family. I have given you a web site to a popular tour that will take you to major sites plus allow you to disembark and reboard along the route to visit any of the FREE museums. Hope to see you in Carlisle to answer any of your questions.

Welcome to Tourmobile Sightseeing

In case anyone has missed the connection....Corey is the creator of those awesome real wood steering wheels...now might be a good time to place an order for Carlisle delivery....
Corey...get busy, bring a couple of extra ones...when people see them 'in the flesh', they will be snapped up...might help to offset the trip cost a bit....

Right down the road from Hershey is the AACA (American Antique Car Association). Nice little museum.

If you want a nice drive, try PA Route 6.

Here is a link PA Route 6 Tourist Association - Welcome!

BTW, I love your avatar. We have the same flag at home. My wife is part Welsh.

Mike,
I drive on a small section of Route 6 every day. It starts in Provincetown at the tip of the hook on Cape Cod and (used to) end in San Diego.

When I was a young lad I grew up on Route 6 in Wellsboro, Pa until I moved away after college. Lots to see and do along Route 6. Wellsboro is in Tioga County. Pennsylvania Grand Canyon & the famous Wellsboro Diner!!! I might go back this May for my 35th High School Reunion!!!!
