Sorry to hear about your injury, you should be off crutches in 3-4 weeks and on your way to recovery with physical therapy. I totally ruptured mine in 2000 and played very carefully 3 months later at a father/son basketball camp. Recovery will depend on your determination and hard work, remember pro athletes are out 9-12 months with this injury.

Good luck and hope to see you in September. HOO-RAH

I picked up a copy of "Airplane" at Wal*Mart for $5. I'll bring my Laptop if someone has a portable projection TV with speakers.

Anyone interested for a viewing during the benchtop racing?

Funny...I'll be driving past Carlisle later this evening along the PA Turnpike. Is anyone showing up this early?

The weather in this part of PA is very hard to predict and usually better than predicted, due to the appalachian mountains.....just hope they are as wrong as they usually are...to the good side that is

Thumbs up Just booked my flight

After rolling it back and forth in my mind for the last week, I went ahead and booked my flight today to Richmond, VA for Thurs. I'm going to ride up to Carlisle on Friday with Charles G. and hopefully pick up a few odds and ends for my Blue Max at the same time. By my estimate the airfare and car rental will cost me less than driving my Dodge Magnum RT the 1000 miles each way from Tampa, FL. Maybe next year I'll have an more economical Opel ready for the trip. See you all there this weekend!

Looking forward to meeting you. I remember dealing with you a few years ago when I found some european side markers that you were looking for. See you tomorrow.

Hello all....I am planning on showing up Saturday but cancelled my room for Friday nite (I kept it for Saturday nite).
The Targa is not running well (still haven't found anyone local that will even look at the Fuel injection ..it's running rich , backfiring occassionally etc so driving it is not going to happen and my trailer is in Arizona. Hoping for a great day on Saturday and looking forward to seeing all of my Opel friends.
I heard from my brother in the MG club that this is the last year for the Import show at Carlisle.. I hope it's just a bad rumor.

Fuel Injection

Most likely your thermotime sensor has come unplugged or gone out. That will cause the FI to run rich, thinking the engine is cold. You can unplug the sensor, jumper the connection and see if the car statrts and runs normally.

I'm leaving Long Island for Carlisle early Saturday morning and have preregistered my Opel but am going to go in my Infiniti.. I may not be able to switch which car is registered when I get there so if anyone is going with an Opel and is not preregistered I can use mine on ur car..I just need to go in with you. So If this works for anyone call me Saturday morning after 7? and we can work out the details.

Carlisle Photos

My photos from Saturday of Carlisle car show 2008 have been uploaded....and should be viewable soon "pending approval".
They are under the Imports at Carlisle gallery for now, but I'm sure Gary will make a subfolder for 2008 when he gets back.

We're soggy, but we're home ..........

Adam, Steve and I are home - I hope everyone else makes it home safely.
As always, it was a great time, made better not so much by the cars as the people
Thanks to everyone for making Steve feel welcome - it was his first time at Carlisle, and he enjoyed himself.

No winners....sigh

The drawing for the 1992 Miata wasn't till 3PM (at least the sun came out for a little while) and even though I had a deck of tickets....none of them were the winner
There were only around a hundred people left when the tickets drawing was called and everyone thought it would take awhile before a winner would step forward. Well it only took 2 ticket numbers for a winner (I had a ticket that was 3 numbers off) and it was over
Great time, despite the rain though
Hope everyone had a safe, eventless return home!
Roger

Patrick and I made it home about an hour ago but I got called into work.

We followed Jim, Rick, Steve and Adam home, nothing like a trail vehicle to make the convoy feel safe.

Awesome weekend with lots of great friends, cars and bench racing. Patrick asked me on the way home about going to Charlotte and Carlisle next year (we know what thats about) AND he wants a Manta. I told him to save his money and buy one that needs NO work.

See you all at the next event. I may or may not bring an Opel!
