Exclamation Carlisle 2008

It's time to get the thread started....a little late this year (thanks for the nudge Vickie!).
Dates for this year: 16th-18th May
Carlisle Events - Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals - Home
I've spoken to the hotel, and we have 35 rooms available to "The Opel Group".
Rates are the same as last year ($88.20), as is the conference room ($75), which I've reserved for our evening "technical discussions"
The hotel details are:
America's Best Inns - (717) 245-2242 - 1825 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA 17013.
America's Best Inns & Suites - Reservations - Carlisle, PA
Carolyn is now co-ordinating our booking, please note her office extension has changed, it is now X1101.
So start planning....May will be here before we know it!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again!!
Rob.

Charles if there is anything needed again this year that I can do, let me know (since I only live 15-20 miles away).

OK I was thinking outside the box for Friday evening..

Hows everybody think about touring the Yuengling plant its straight up 81 for about 60 miles then a nice country drive for about 12 miles to the plant. We could meet people coming down from the north or west there and drive back to Carlilse with them..

Hours and Tours - 1:30 p.m.

Yuengling - Pottsville
5th & Mahantongo Streets
Pottsville, PA 17901

Whats everyone think.. ? Then we could find some place to eat up there on our way back ?

BTW to answer the question .. where do they sell too..? see attached.

We could take some to the hotel with us..

I cant imagine how good it is fresh from the brewery.. I can almost drink Budwieser at the factory.. without getting a migraine.

Well lets just say I am putting it on the schedule and if anyone shows up thats awesome.. if they don't well... I will enjoy myself none the less

Its' done.. We (or at least I will) will have a private tour at 2PM

Yuengling - Pottsville
5th & Mahantongo Streets
Pottsville, PA 17901

I will pay the $25 fee we only have room for up to 25 people.. but I think that will be plenty.

So I will plan to leave the Carlilse Fairgrounds at 12pm.. and arrive at the Yuengling plant at about 1:30 PM..

So if all of you coming in from the east, west or north want to route yourself through Pottsville and schedule yourself to be there around 1PM. It should be a fun time.

Charles

I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that I am finished with college payments as my youngest is graduating this spring and I have made the final payment to the school, so more cash available for my Opel hobby. The bad news is that I just found out that his graduation is ......guess when....May 17th. I have been trying for the past 3 years to bring my car to Carlisle and this year was a real good bet, even if it was on a trailer not quite done, but alas I will not be at Carlisle at all this year.

Hey everyone, well It's a little to early to tell for me this year, the Yeungling plant would be a blast, yet again I will not be bringing an opel that will be 3 years straight. Still working on getting them back.
I will let you all know what my plans are.

Mike,

When I was living in Philly, Yuengling black & tan was known as the "beer that

As of a people's vote last November, we are now a dry state - only sweet tea allowed

I just made reservations. This will be our first time at Carlisle and the great thing is that May 18th is our 24th wedding anniversary. I told my wife we are going to Carlisle PA to spend the weekend. She is very excited about the weekend away. Now I have until May to let her know about the Car show.

I'm in for the "lager" tour. Couldn't have you touring alone Charles...

I hope to be driving either the Senator or my '72 wagon. Someone slap me if I mention that I'm even thinking about a getting a vendor space this year. Shrinking the vendor field was one thing, but the with PA sales tax last year was the straw that ended that 10 year run.

'From the trunk' trading is probably easier for everyone anyway. No sales tax, and no walking to the far corners of the vendor field either!
