Carlisle 2008 - Friday Yuengling Brewery Tour

As a special event for Friday at this years Carlisle

Thought this would be fun considering all those that leave for the Mid-west and New England with cases of Yuengling Black and Tan after Carlisle.

We (or at least I will) will have a private tour at 2PM

May 16th, 2008

Yuengling - Pottsville
5th & Mahantongo Streets
Pottsville, PA 17901

I will pay the $25 fee we only have room for up to 25 people.. but I think that will be plenty.

So I will plan to leave the Carlilse Fairgrounds at 12pm.. and arrive at the Yuengling plant at about 1:30 PM..

So if all of you coming in from the east, west or north want to route yourself through Pottsville and schedule yourself to be there around 1PM. It should be a fun time.

We will stop go to Hoss' Steakhouse in Carlisle on Friday Night.

Yeah, what about us? Since the vote for making GA a dry state ended 8,600,000 : 2 (Gene and me) , I take every chance to go inside a brewery. Even if it means the extra 60 or 90 miles on Friday .

Well I assumed you would be the ones that meet us at Carlisle and come up with us to the plant. Since you would be passing that way already.

Make sure your e-brakes are working. Pottsville is very hilly. Don't stay in Centralia too long or your tires will melt.

BTW, yes they have a sampling room There is a Cabela's located at Route PA 61 and I-78. Another nice place to stop.

Hmm... how many can Cabelas hold? On the way back? Maybe those of use going to the Yuengling tour can stop there for dinner instead.

About 5,000. The Cabella's on Rt. 78 is a sporting goods store the size of a small city.

OK.. just another bump.. need to see if we will have more than the 5 so far saying they will go to the Yuengling tour.

BTW. anyone else see the movie Beer League, looks like Yuengling was sponsor.. first movie I have seen thier logos and such at the bars in a movie

Leave Fairgrounds at 12 noon to head to Pottsville
Meet at Yuengling plant at 2PM for tour.
Leave Plant about 3-4 PM
Arrive at Hoss' for Dinner at 5:30 - 6 PM
Commune with other Opel owners over a few Beers 7:30 PM till ???

Saturday
Weber Rebuild - 11AM
Judging starts at 12 Noon
Awards at 3 PM
Raffles after Awards
Auction for Rebuilt Weber (To pay for awards)

Dinner at either Hoss' or Middlesex Diner at 6 PM
Commune with other Opel owners over a few Beers 7:30 PM till ???

Sunday
Nothing planned..

BTW.. debating on T-shirts as I lost money last year and have a ton of shirts. May do a limited run of shirts if some people want them. Maybe like 20 or so..
