False... There are cars parked on the speedway itself all the way around the track. But when the show is not there, I think you can pay a small fee to have a little fun!

You can drive on the track - to get to the other side. It's just Roy's car that we have to push across the track.

Sometimes life deals us a bad hand and I have gotten mine. Unfortunatly I have to back out of the show this year. I really hate to miss it, but it just can't happen. Sorry Roy, I know you'll miss me! I hope you all have a great time. I can't wait to see the pictures and read the stories.

Will somebody please take pictures of the entire OPEL line up for me at the nationals?? I would really appreciate seeing.......can't go for sure due to work.

Have never been and was really hoping to this year! I know there will probably be various pics of each opel posted on here but I would like to see as many as possible in a single photo.

If you can't make Charlotte this year, will you be joining several of us Opelers in Springfield, Il for the Route 66 show three weeks later? You don't need to bring an Opel to join in the fun.

Btw. I plan to take pics of all the cars in Charlotte and post them in the events section as I'm sure others will.

My Uncle and I take pics of every event that we go to. I do my best to get group shots. With the set-up of the LMS, there should be some nice group shots.

Good idea!

I really want to take vids of the cars going along the winding roads between Roy's and LMS. I tried last year but took so many pics, that I only had enough memory for a VERY short vid. I love Opel convoys, they're such a spectacle.

I'LL be glad when the Nationals are over.... then I can stop thinkin up 500 ways a day to tell the boss I QUIT so I can go!!!

Gonna try for Springfield but for the next 6 months it's gonna be tough to get a weekend off. Are we still showing up there and doing our own thing or has it been determined that we are worthy enough to be a part of the show?

Not only are we still part of the show in Springfield, according to the info I've gotten we will have our own Opel class with three awards. All that said we will still do our own awards on Saturday with door prizes and such.

Just for your information from the AutoFair....

We are very excited to announce that none other than Carroll Shelby will be making an appearance at the Food Lion AutoFair next weekend. The legendary car builder will meet the public during a one-hour autograph session on Saturday, Sept. 6. The special event will take place in the 3M Car Care Garage at 10:00 a.m.

I don't know if there is a way for someone to get in earlier enough to take pictures of them coming through the tunnel or not. The cars will be entering around 7-7:15. The public cannot get in unless they are already there as a vendor or such.

I'm up in the air as to whether to arrive on Thursday or Friday.. I usually drive at nite and was thinking of leaving after midnite and expect to be driving about 12 hours. I want to see some of the show and expect that most of the day Saturday w/b spent at the Opel "Corral"
Who is getting there Thursday and who is arriving Friday and Sat.. ????
I know we're all meeting Friday nite for Pizza at the hotel conference room.... any earlier group meetings?
